  • Publication number: 20130197509
Abstract: A system for controlling a treatment device generates a graphical interface that visually prompts a user in a step-wise fashion to use the treatment device to perform a process of forming a pattern of lesions that extends both circumferentially and axially in different levels in a body region. The graphical interface displays for the user a visual record of the progress of the process from start to finish and guides the user so that so that individual lesions desired within a given level are all formed, and that a given level of lesions is not skipped.

  • Publication number: 20130198538
Abstract: Various methods and systems are provided for buffer-batch management for energy efficient networking. In one embodiment, among others, a system includes a host device including an interface with a network. A device driver monitors requests to transmit packets from the host device to the network, buffers the packets in memory of the host device when the host device network interface is estimated to be in a low power mode, and initiates transition of the host device network interface to a full power mode based at least in part upon predefined criteria associated with the buffered packets. The host device network interface may begin transmission of the buffered packets when the host device network interface enters the full power mode. The host device network interface may be a network interface controller such as, e.g., an Ethernet controller configured for Energy Efficient Ethernet operation.

  • Publication number: 20130198807
Abstract: Systems and techniques to provide transparent authentication integration. In general, in one implementation, the technique includes: receiving a request from a client to take an action with respect to an electronic document, in response to the request, obtaining an authentication process, and sending the authentication process to the client for use in identifying a current user and controlling the action with respect to the electronic document based on the current user and document-permissions information associated with the electronic document. Obtaining the authentication process can involve requesting and receiving the authentication process from a second server. The authentication process can use an existing interface provided by the client to communicate authentication information to the server.

  • Patent number: 8498589
Abstract: A modulation system comprising a signal processing unit and a modulator. The signal processing unit may generate a low frequency modulator signal, a high frequency modulator signal, and a modulator amplitude control signal. The modulator may generate a modulated signal for transmission via a wireless network based, at least in part, on the low frequency modulator signal, the high frequency modulator signal, and the modulator amplitude control signal. The signal processing unit comprises a delay compensation unit for delaying the generation of the high frequency modulator signal and the modulator amplitude control signal based, at least in part, on signal generation and modulation path delays associated with the low frequency modulator signal to substantially align the modulator signals at the output of the modulation system.

  • Patent number: 8499359
Abstract: A user requests to store a file to a storage device and a DLP module receives the request. The DLP module receives data for the file, encrypts the data using an encryption key and stores the encrypted data to the storage device. Next, the DLP module determines whether the encrypted data in the file is in compliance with a DLP policy. To determine compliance, the DLP module decrypts the data using the encryption key and examines the decrypted data for compliance. If the decrypted data is not in compliance with the DLP policy, the DLP module deletes the encrypted data from the storage device.

  • Patent number: 8498373
Abstract: A count value generator includes an input for receiving a synchronizing count value, a counter configured to increment at a local frequency, the local frequency being faster than the synchronizing frequency, and an interpolator for determining a frequency ratio between the local frequency and the synchronizing frequency and for determining an increment value for the counter dependent on a relative amount of a maximum value of the counter with respect to the frequency ratio is disclosed. The counter generates a count value including a predetermined number of bits representing integer values and output as the lower order bits of the output count value and additional lower order bits that represent fractional portions of the integer values. The counter includes output circuitry for outputting the synchronizing count value and the predetermined number of bits representing integer values generated by the counter as the lower order bits of the count value.

  • Patent number: 8497477
Abstract: A system and technique for imaging a subject at a scene overcomes the weaknesses in the existing gain fluctuation techniques by switching the environmental temperature at the scene at a rate sufficiently fast enough to obtain subsequent samples in a time period where the gain has not fluctuated sufficiently to have a negative effect on detection sensitivity. This technique is utilized in conjunction with the method of subsequent subtraction of alternate samples which both reveals the reflectance of the scene and removes gain fluctuation.
