Abstract: The use of a heat-stabilised, heat-set oriented film comprising poly(ethylene naphthalate) as a substrate in, or in the manufacture of, an electronic or opto-electronic device containing a conjugated conductive polymer, wherein said film has a shrinkage at 30 mins at 230°° C. of less than 1%; and a composite film comprising such a substrate layer and on a surface thereof a barrier layer.

Abstract: In various embodiments, a multi-component videoconferencing system (MCVCS) may be used as a videoconferencing endpoint. The MCVCS may include a camera, microphones, speakers, and a codec. The camera and speakers may be coupled to or placed around a display. The MCVCS may send/receive signals through a network coupled to the computer system. The various functions to support the videoconference (e.g., compression and decompression of video signals) may be performed by circuitry in the camera base, codec box, and/or on the computer system. The computer system may be a laptop computer. In some embodiments, the codec functionality may be incorporated in a set-top box. In some embodiments, the components of the MCVCS may be incorporated into a unitary housing. In some embodiments, ported speakers may be used to maximize sound quality for the provided speaker size.

Abstract: The present invention provides a random access and random load dispensing unit including a housing, at least one support located in the housing and defining a first axis, a plurality of platforms movable along the support along the first axis, a plurality of bins supported on the platforms, the bins being movable with the platforms, and a shuttle assembly movable along the first axis and further movable along a second axis substantially perpendicular to the first axis between the plurality of platforms to access and retrieve products stored in the bins.

Abstract: A quantum well structure according to the invention includes a quantum well layer (107) arranged between two barrier layers (109, 112). It is distinguished in that at least one of the barrier layers (109) includes nanostructures (110) which compensate or modulate a lateral homogeneity of the barrier layer (109), that exists without the nanostructures (110), that is to say a homogeneity in the directions extending perpendicularly to the stacking direction of the layers in the quantum well structure.

Abstract: A system and method are provided for enabling transmission of an email message to one recipient and a portion of the email message to at least another recipient. The system includes an email creation module or email editor module configured to enable one to compose an email message for transmission to at least one remote server. The system further includes a parsing module configured to parse the composed email message into at least two components, where a first component of the at least two components includes the entire email message and at least a second component of the at least two components includes a portion of the email message. The system further includes a transmission module configured to transmit the first component and at least the second component to at least two different email addresses corresponding to at least two different recipients. The at least two different email addresses can belong to two different email aliases or distribution lists.

The window covering is sandwiched between first and second glass panels, and the decorative structure is sandwiched between second and third glass panels. An inner frame half and an outer frame half support the IG assembly in a wall or a door. The frame halves include an integral valance panel that extends over a portion of one of the glass panels to cover the blind when the blind is in the raised position. In one embodiment, the decorative structure is a decorative glass panel that includes a decoration centered within the panel.

Abstract: A valve device that is securable to a cylinder includes a housing with a central passage in fluid communication with a first connection port that connects with a cylinder, and a second connection port including a passage that is in fluid communication with the central passage. The second connection port is configured to connect with a fluid flow line. A valve member is disposed within the second connection port and includes a movable member that engages with a seat to provide a fluid tight seal for the valve member in a closed position. The movable member is configured to be moved away from the seat so as to open the valve member and permit fluid to flow from the central passage of the valve housing around the movable member and through the second connection port while substantially preventing a backflow of fluids from a location external to the valve housing into the central passage.

Abstract: A process for making an optical film includes stretching a polyolefin film in a first direction and stretching the polyolefin film in a second direction different than the first direction forming a biaxially stretched polyolefin film. At least a portion of the stretching of the polyolefin film in the second direction occurs simultaneous with the stretching of the polyolefin film in the first direction. The biaxially stretched polyolefin film has a length and a width and substantially non-absorbing and non-scattering for at least one polarization state of visible light. The biaxially stretched polyolefin film has x, y, and z orthogonal indices of refraction where at least two of the orthogonal indices of refraction are not equal, an in-plane retardance being 100 nm or less and an out-of-plane retardance being 50 nm or greater.

Abstract: A common-path, point-diffraction, phase-shifting interferometer uses a half wave plate having a diffractive element, such as pin hole. A coherent, polarized light source simultaneously generates a reference beam from the diffractive element and an object beam from remaining portions of the light going through the half wave plate. The reference beam has a nearly spherical wavefront. Each of the two beams possesses a different polarization state. The object and reference beams are then independently phase modulated by a polarization sensitive phase modulator that shifts phase an amount depending on applied voltage and depending on polarization state of the incident light. A polarizer is then used to provide the object and reference beams in the same polarization state with equal intensities so they can interfere to create an interferogram with near unity contrast.

Abstract: This invention is directed to a wireless bio-sensor electrode for recording bio-potentials elicited from a subject or for providing a stimulus to a subject. A preferred embodiment is a wireless bio-sensor electrode for eliciting from a subject bio-potentials including averaged evoked potentials, nerve conduction studies, electromyographic activity, electrocardiogram or electroencephalogram, or for providing a stimulus to the subject for eliciting said bio-potentials. Another embodiment is the use of the wireless bio-sensor electrode for recording far-field and near-field bio-potentials in a subject in real-time and in a real-time neurophysiological monitoring/testing system.

Abstract: A system and method for delivering and licensing wager gaming content is described herein. In one embodiment, the system can include a wager gaming machine to receive gaming content, conduct wagering games based on the gaming content, and transmit information indicating how the wager gaming machine used the gaming content. The system can also include a download manager to receive the information indicating how the gaming content was used, and determine a fee for use of the gaming content.

Abstract: A search apparatus with a user interface to a search engine is disclosed. The search apparatus includes a search term field, a search result list area and a search result display area. The search term field is adapted to receive a search term to be submitted to a search engine to initiate a search. The search result list area is used to display a list of search results found during the search. The search result display area is adapted to display one or more web pages corresponding to the search results, wherein the web pages are displayed in a matrix format. When configured to display two or more web pages, the at least two web pages are concurrently displayed. The number of the web pages concurrently displayed in the search result display area is user selectable.

An inner support and a pair of outer supports extend downwardly from the deck between the outer supports. A plurality of keg top receiving recesses are formed in the bottoms of the inner and outer supports. Abstract: A remote controlled crossview mirror assembly for use on a vehicle that allows a vehicle operator to adjust an arcuate mirror leftward and rightward to improve the field of vision directly in front of and to the side of the vehicle. To operate the assembly, the operator first activates an electronic controller contained within the cab region. The electronic controller sends an electrical signal to an electronic actuator. The electronic actuator interprets the electronic signal and rotates about a fixed center point in a clockwise or counterclockwise direction along a horizontal plane, thereby adjusting a coupled arcuate mirror to improve the operator's field of vision directly in front of and to the side of the vehicle.

Abstract: An automated rotary microtome blade changing apparatus, comprising an upper stage being adapted to releasably engage a supply cartridge and a waste cartridge, the upper stage having a loading segment adapted to engage and move blades contained within the supply cartridge into a cutting position; clamping means for releasably holding the blades in place for cutting operations; power means for driving the movement of blades and clamping mechanisms; and electronic control means for integrating all of the functions of the apparatus.

Abstract: An SRAM bus architecture includes pass-through interconnect conductors. Each of the pass-through interconnect conductors is connected to routing channels of the general interconnect architecture of the FPGA through an element which includes a pass transistor connected in parallel with a tri-state buffer. The pass transistors and tri-state buffers are controlled by configuration SRAM bits. Some of the pass-through interconnect conductors are connected by programmable elements to the address, data and control signal lines of the SRAM blocks, while other pass through the SRAM blocks with out being further connected to the SRAM bussing architecture.
