  • Publication number: 20240189785
Abstract: A method to improve a performance and efficiency of a liquid-gas eductor includes injecting a small amount of secondary gas into the primary motive liquid prior to the latter's arrival at the eductor. This measure simultaneously reduces the flow rate of motive fluid and maintains a level of secondary inducted flow such that the aggregate secondary flow is higher than without the intervention—for certain conditions. The additional work needed in introducing the injected secondary fluid, by auxiliary means, is a few percentage points of the work done by the motive fluid without the intervention. The quantity of secondary fluid inducted and injected by the eductor adopting the above measures approaches double than that of the secondary flow without the measure. The motive liquid volumetric flow rate is reduced slightly which with the enhanced aggregate secondary flow means that the energy efficiency of the eductor process is substantially increased.

  • Publication number: 20240191943
Abstract: The present invention includes a spray drying disposable device for use in a spray drying system. The disposable has a spray drying head and a plasma drying chamber. The head has a spray dry nozzle assembly in fluid communication with the plasma source and the pressurized aerosol gas source. The pressurized gas flows in a vortex pattern that atomizes plasma droplets in the chamber. The head also includes a plenum has uniform air pressure of the drying gas. A baffle plate forms the floor of the plenum having drying gas jets that supply drying gas to the chamber. The atomized plasma droplets evaporate in the presence of the drying gas emitted from the jets to obtain dried plasma particles and humid air. A capture filter captures the dried plasma particles and allows the humid air to pass. The humid air passes through the gas outlet and the exhaust port.

  • Publication number: 20240191278
Abstract: The present disclosure provides compositions and methods that employ the compositions for conducting pairwise sequencing and for generating concatemer template molecules for pairwise sequencing. The concatemers can be generated using a rolling circle amplification reaction which is conducted either on-support, or conducted in-solution and then distributed onto a support. The rolling circle amplification reaction generates concatemers containing tandem copies of a sequence of interest and at least one universal adaptor sequence. An increase in the number of tandem copies in a given concatemer increases the number of sites along the concatemer for hybridizing to multiple sequencing primers which serve as multiple initiation sites for polymerase-catalyzed sequencing reactions. When the sequencing reaction employs detectably labeled nucleotides and/or detectably labeled multivalent molecules (e.g.
