Abstract: Technologies are generally provided for devices, systems, and methods to provide spinal fixation, spinal stabilization, and/or spinal fusion. Example devices may include a first end and a second end with a middle portion extending between the first and second end. The first end may be configured to be in contact with a portion of a first or upper vertebra and the second end may be configured to be in contact with a portion of a second or lower vertebra in an adjacent vertebral pair. Portions of the vertebra which may be in contact with the device may include lamina, processes, vertebral bodies, and facet joints. The example devices may include bone engagement features, such as screws or similar fasteners, to enhance stabilization and fixation when in contact with the vertebrae. Additionally, the devices may include a bone integration feature to promote bone growth and to facilitate fusion between the vertebrae.

Abstract: A lock, attachable to a coupling in a bushing coupled to an outside structure, includes a housing, an actuatable lock assembly and a latching assembly. The actuatable lock assembly is rotatable relative to the housing assembly in a closed orientation and an open orientation, and, has a spindle member having a knob attachment portion and a coupling attachment portion. Here, the spindle member and a knob are configured to rotate relative to the housing assembly. The coupling attachment portion is extendable into a central bore and attachable to a coupling. Upon attachment, relative rotation of the spindle member and the coupling is substantially precluded. The latching assembly is positionable in one of a locked position and an unlocked position. The latching assembly is positioned within the cavity of the housing assembly and includes a motor to direct the actuatable lock assembly from a closed orientation to the open orientation.

Abstract: The present disclosure provides a curable composition containing a benzoxazine and a polysulfone-based toughener. The curable composition, upon curing, renders a cured article having well balanced thermal, chemical and mechanical properties, The curable composition may be used in a variety of applications, such as in coatings, structural composites and encapsulating systems for electronic and electrical components.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a reservoir (10) for containing a liquid preferably for use with a hair removal and fluid application device (1). The reservoir (10) comprises at least one liquid compartment, and has at least one sealed edge (15) having two surfaces and at least one opening means (11), wherein said opening means (11) is releasably attached in-between said two surfaces of said sealed edge (15) and extends outwardly there from. Abstract: A Rankine cycle system including a Rankine cycle working circuit and a lubrication circuit is disclosed. The lubrication circuit and the Rankine cycle working circuit include a shared segment including a mixture of Rankine cycle working fluid from the Rankine cycle working circuit and lubricant from the lubrication circuit. A separator receives the mixture of Rankine cycle working fluid and lubricant from the shared segment and separates the Rankine cycle working fluid from the lubricant. The separated Rankine cycle working fluid is directed along the Rankine cycle working circuit from the separator to the heating zone and the separated lubricant is directed along the lubrication circuit from the separator to a mechanical expander. The working fluid and lubricant are recombined after passing separately through the expander and are then introduced to the condensing zone.

The system provides a visible indication when the first component and second component are fully and effectively secured. The first cylindrical component comprises a lock cylinder fixedly attached to the first cylindrical component. The lock cylinder comprises a lock piston. The second cylindrical component comprises a channel with a guide region and a lock region. The visible portion of the lock piston provides an indication of whether or not the lock piston is secured in the lock region of the channel. The system is also capable of being operated from a control panel to operate the locks, receive signals from sensors, and to display the lock status of the system. The system offers redundant verifications to enhance safety in operating environments.

The disclosure changes the storage environment, directly or through a vendor provider, to active/passive synchronous or near synchronous and, during migration, migrates only data which has not already been replicated at the destination host. The source and destination VMs have concurrent access to storage disks during migration. After migration, the destination VM executes with exclusive access to the storage disks, and the system is returned to the previous storage environment of active/passive asynchronous.

A flyweight system is engaged with the clutch mechanism to permit freewheeling of the first shaft relative to the second shaft when subject to rotational motion beyond a threshold speed. A method for starting a gas turbine engine comprises engaging a low pressure compressor with a high pressure compressor utilizing a clutch, rotating the low pressure compressor and the high pressure compressor utilizing a starter generator coupled to the low pressure compressor, igniting the gas turbine engine, and disengaging the clutch at an operational speed of the gas turbine engine.

Abstract: Methods and systems for efficient data transactions between applications running on devices associated with the same host. According to one embodiment, a host system includes an HTTP proxy and an SSL/TLS proxy operatively coupled with each other. The SSL/TLS proxy may be configured to perform SSL negotiation with a client and the HTTP proxy may be configured to communicate with a web server in clear text. Data can be transferred directly between the proxies through a pair of connected sockets using a handle of the other proxy's socket. The handle includes a pointer to an address within a memory of a first device upon which the other proxy is running In this manner, data stored at the address may be processed by a proxy running on a second device without copying the data to the second device and without the overhead associated with the TCP/IP protocol stack.

Abstract: Track based play systems are described which comprise a set of physical play pieces and an associated computer game. In an embodiment, a user may arrange some or all of the play pieces in the set to form a path. The computer game is arranged to infer a virtual model of the path defined by the user-created arrangement of the play pieces. The inference may be based on data communicated by one or more the play pieces to the game or based on data from a local sensing device such as a camera which views the relative positions of the play pieces. Having inferred the path, the game constrains a virtual or physical object to the path within the game play and renders a graphical user interface showing at least a portion of the path.

The method includes retrieving image data associated with a plurality of locations within a specified geographical area. The image data is compared to a plurality of stored image data that includes baseline measurement values associated with an expected condition level of baseline locations within a baseline geographical area. Condition score values associated with the plurality of locations are calculated. The condition score values indicate real time condition values associated with the plurality of locations. An overall condition score value associated with the specified geographical area is generated. A map indicating the overall condition score value is generated.

Abstract: Approaches for classifying vehicles include generating a signal waveform from a signal in a single inductive loop generated by a passing vehicle. The signal waveform is compared to a first plurality of model waveforms. Each model waveform is associated with a respective class of vehicle. A first model waveform of the first plurality of model waveforms that matches the signal waveform is determined, and data indicating the respective class of vehicle associated with the first model waveform is output.
