  • Publication number: 20220136460
Abstract: A turbine engine system utilizes one or more augmented combustion modules to produce an exhaust that is fed into the turbine portion of the engine and wherein power is produced by the augmented combustion module for use to drive the main shaft and/or for auxiliary purposes. An augmented combustion module is configured between the compressor and the turbine of the engine and receives compressed air from the compressor and ignites an air/fuel-mixture to turn a shaft that can be used to produce power. The shaft may be coupled with an electrical power generator, a pump, a hydraulic or pneumatic power generator and/or power conversion or transmission devices and/or coupled with the main shaft of the turbine engine. The power from a power generator may be stored in a battery, hydraulic accumulator or pneumatic accumulator and may be used to power auxiliary electrical, hydraulic or pneumatic devices.

  • Publication number: 20210390681
Abstract: A workpiece inspection and defect detection system includes a light source, a lens that inputs image light arising from a surface of a workpiece, and a camera that receives imaging light transmitted along an imaging optical path. The system utilizes images of workpieces acquired with the camera as training images to train a defect detection portion to detect defect images that include workpieces with defects. Anomaly detector classification characteristics are determined based on features of the training images. Run mode images of workpieces are acquired with the camera, and based on determined features from the images, the anomaly detector classification characteristics are utilized to determine if the images of the workpieces are classified as anomalous. In addition, the defect detection portion determines if images are defect images that include workpieces with defects and for which additional operations may be performed (e.g., metrology operations for measuring dimensions of the defects, etc.

  • Patent number: 11150200
Abstract: A workpiece inspection and defect detection system includes a light source, a lens that inputs image light arising from a surface of a workpiece, and a camera that receives imaging light transmitted along an imaging optical path. The system utilizes images of workpieces acquired with the camera as training images to train a defect detection portion to detect defect images that include workpieces with defects, and determines a performance of the defect detection portion as trained with the training images. Based on the performance of the defect detection portion, an indication is provided as to whether additional defect images should be provided for training. After training is complete, the camera is utilized to acquire new images of workpieces which are analyzed to determine defect images that include workpieces with defects, and for which additional operations may be performed (e.g., metrology operations for measuring dimensions of the defects, etc.

  • Patent number: 11121910
Abstract: In an embodiment, a computing node includes a computing circuit, a comparing circuit, and an indicator circuit. The computing circuit is configured to receive each of at least one input-data message. The comparing circuit is configured to compare each of the at least one received input-data message to a list of input-data-message identifiers. And the indicator circuit is configured, for each of the at least one input-data message that corresponds to a respective input-data-message identifier, to generate a respective portion of a first status message, the respective portion indicating that the input-data message was received. For example, such computing node can determine the congruency of a received input-data message between coupled redundancy circuits with reduced processing overhead, reduced message delay, and reduced message latency as compared to existing computer nodes.

  • Publication number: 20210084998
Abstract: Disclosed are apparatus and corresponding methodology for a burp sash/burping cloth, which is a continuous sash/cloth to ensure that the caretaker who is in the act of burping an infant, has a burping cloth that remains in place, avoiding any unintentional shifting, sliding, and/or dropping. It also protects the wearer's clothing during common parental duties (i.e. burping, holding, bathing, or otherwise performing activities common to caring for a baby). The sash/cloth only becomes a continuous piece when the two ends come together and are attached, such as by using magnets or hook and loop fasteners. Because the sash/cloth is not a fixed continuous circle, and has the capability to detach, the wearer has multiple options to put on or take off the item, making it user-friendly. Absorbent material protects the wearer's clothes, and the continuous loop/piece feature allows a caretaker to rotate the sash, resulting in a clean surface for future utilization.

  • Patent number: 10890693
Abstract: A tunable acoustic gradient (TAG) lens includes an acoustic wave generating element and a refractive fluid in a casing cavity surrounded by a lens casing. The lens casing includes case ends which each include a window configuration, a case end rim portion and an enhanced axial compliance portion. The window configuration includes a window and a window mounting portion having an overall window mount dimension along the axial direction.
