  • Patent number: 5229595
Abstract: A color scanner has a plurality of rows of photosensors. Spacers are formed between and around the rows, and a transparent cover sheet is sealed to the device, to form separate channels. An opening is provided in each otherwise sealed channel. The channels are filled with different colored media by evacuating the channels and letting the vacuum draw in different colored media such as liquids or gels.

  • Patent number: 4892280
Abstract: A clamping device for clamping on to an elongate member, e.g. for supporting a component on the member or for strengthening the member itself, comprises an annular shell for surrounding the member, the shell being formed by a plurality of generally part annular segments, each segment having generally axially extending edges provided with outwardly projecting ribs, juxtaposed ribs of adjacent segments being engaged by engagement means to hold the segments around the elongate member. The ribs are generally wedge shaped in the axial direction of the shell. The engagement members have grooves for receiving and engaging a pair of juxtaposed ribs, the grooves having an overall shape corresponding to shape of the pair of juxtaposed ribs and are slidable axially along the ribs to draw the ribs and segments together around the elongate member.

  • Patent number: 4029784
Abstract: Pyrimidine derivatives are provided wherein the 6-position carries the group OSO.sub.2 NR.sup.5 R.sup.6 and the 2-position carries the group NR.sup.1 R.sup.2. R.sup.1 and R.sup.2 are preferably hydrogen or lower alkyl but both are not hydrogen and R.sup.5 and R.sup.6 are preferably lower alkyl, although these groups may form a cyclic ring. The 3-position and 4-position are preferably substituted with lower alkyl, although lower alkynyl or alkenyl may be used. The derivatives are compounded into compositions for combatting fungal pests.
