  • Patent number: 11874010
Abstract: A self-insulating air delivery and recirculation system maintains a desired air temperature of the conditioned air supplied thereinto for delivery to an aircraft. The system uses insulating airflow layers; a parallel layer and a counterflow layer. A starting section connects to a PCA unit and delivers conditioned air therefrom to an interior supply hose. The starting section supplies conditioned insulating air to an interior insulating hose that is annularly outward of the supply hose and in which air flows parallel to airflow in the supply hose. A reversing connector indirectly connects the supply hose to the aircraft and reverses the flow of air from the interior insulating hose to flow back toward the PCA unit in an exterior counterflow hose that is annularly outward of the interior insulating hose and connects at its far end to provide intake airflow to the PCA unit.

  • Patent number: 11266311
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for mechanically disturbing tissues of the central nervous system including a brain of a subject are provided. An elastogram of brain tissue may be generated using mesoscopic wavelength ultrasound composed of longitudinal waves in brain tissues to produce micromechanical disturbances of brain nuclei and circuits for characterization of their mechanical properties (e.g., stiffness, elasticity, rigidity, viscoelasticity). A magnetic resonance elastography (MRE) system includes an MRE engine in electronic communication with at least one transducer and with a magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) device. The MRE engine is configured to electronically control operation of the at least one transducer to emit ultrasound, to electronically receive, from the MRI device, at least one signal indicative of measurements of displacement of the brain tissue by the ultrasound, and to electronically generate an elastogram of the brain tissue based on the at least one signal.

The system uses insulating airflow layers; a parallel layer and a counterflow layer. A starting section connects to a PCA unit and delivers conditioned air therefrom to an interior supply hose. The starting section also either creates bleed conditioned air or accepts conditioned insulating air and supplies it to an interior insulating hose that is annularly outward of the supply hose and in which air flows parallel to airflow in the supply hose. A reversing connector indirectly connects the supply hose to the aircraft and reverses the flow of air from the interior insulating hose to flow back toward the PCA unit in an exterior counterflow hose that is annularly outward of the interior insulating hose.

  • Publication number: 20150160832
Abstract: In particular embodiments, a computing device provides for presentation a user interface including a first interactive element. The computing device receives first user input selecting the first interactive element and, in response to the first user input, provides for presentation a second interactive element. The second interactive element may be associated with functionality to dismiss the first interactive element. The computing device receives second user input comprising moving the first interactive element toward the second interactive element. In response to the first interactive element being within a particular distance of the second interactive element and receiving third user input, the computing device removes the first interactive element and the second interactive element from presentation in the user interface.

  • Patent number: 8289207
Abstract: An improved method is provided for positioning a directional antenna coupled to a radio towards a satellite. The method includes: receiving an input to the radio from an operator of the radio, where the input indicates a desired time period for positioning the antenna; transmitting, during the desired time period, a plurality of burst data transmissions from the radio over a channel associated with the satellite; receiving a plurality of reply data transmissions from the satellite which correspond to the plurality of burst data transmissions sent by the radio; determining a metric indicative of signal quality for each of the reply data transmissions; and outputting from the radio an indicator for each metric. The operator of the radio can use the indicator output by the radio to better position the antenna towards the satellite.
