  • Publication number: 20240095361
Abstract: An execution environment has been designed that detects likely data exfiltration by using taint tracking and abstract execution. The execution environment is instrumented to monitor for use of functions identified as having functionality for transferring data out of an execution environment. In addition, heuristics-based rules are defined to mark or “taint” objects (e.g., variables) that are likely targets for exfiltration. With taint tracking and control flow analysis, the execution environment tracks the tainted objects through multiple execution paths of a code sample. After comprehensive code coverage, logged use of the monitored functions are examined to determine whether any tainted objects were passed to the monitored functions. If so, the logged use will indicate a destination or sink for the tainted source. Each tainted source-sink association can be examined to verify whether the exfiltration was malicious.

  • Publication number: 20240091393
Abstract: A method of disinfecting using a light diffusing fiber includes optically coupling a light source to a light diffusing optical fiber having a core, a cladding surrounding the core, an outer surface, and a plurality of scattering structures positioned within the core, the cladding, or both the core and the cladding. The method further includes positioning the light diffusing optical fiber in optical engagement with a pathogen sample and directing light output by the light source into the light diffusing optical fiber for a first time interval. The scattering structures scatter light propagating along the light diffusing optical fiber toward the outer surface and a portion of the light diffuses through the outer surface thereby irradiating the pathogen sample with light having an average power density of about 5 mW/cm2 to about 30 mW/cm2 at a wavelength from about 380 nm to about 495 nm for an exposure time from about 2 hours to about 24 hours.

  • Publication number: 20240092077
Abstract: A controller design for a dual input single output (DISO) system is applied to a robot for printing layouts at construction sites. The differential drive robot has a separately controlled linear actuator that moves the print head perpendicularly to the fore-aft axis of the robot. The output is the lateral position of the print head; the sum of the position of the linear actuator (faster stage) relative to a reference point on the front of the robot, which is determined by the steering of the robot (slower stage). Both are measurable. The controller coordinates the action of the separately controlled linear actuator and the differential steering to achieve fast convergence and sub-millimeter tracking. Simulations and experimental results demonstrate the effectiveness of the approach.

Abstract: A track rail fastening system includes a rail cushion positionable laterally between a first fastener assembly and a second fastener assembly. The rail cushion includes a first full-length pad and a second full-length pad, and a pin field formed by a plurality of deformable pins. The first full-length pad and the second full-length pad define a first rail cushioning plane. The deformable pins in the pin field define a second rail cushioning plane. The cushion is deformable between a rest configuration where the cushioning planes are spaced, and a loaded configuration where the cushioning planes are co-planar. Primary, lower load deformable pins are configured to deflect such that under sufficient load both the primary, lower load deformable pins, and secondary, higher load pins engage an underlying substrate.
