  • Publication number: 20190231110
Abstract: A wirelessly controllable, motorized and battery powered drapery apparatus is presented having a rotatable drive element having a guide structure in its surface. The rotatable drive is inserted through the open interior of a plurality of tabs in the shade material. A grommet driver is positioned over the rotatable drive element and connected to one of the plurality of tabs. The grommet driver has at least one tooth that is in communication with the guide structure in the rotatable drive element. • Publication number: 20160127530
Abstract: A system for controlling at least one motorized window covering using wireless communication is presented. The system includes a wireless device which is wirelessly connected to wireless access point which is connected to a gateway which is wirelessly connected to at least one motorized window covering. The wireless device has a display and an application installed thereon. The application includes an interactive illustration of a window with a moveable bottom bar that extends there across and a plurality of actuation buttons. When a user actuates either the moveable bottom bar or any one of the actuation buttons, the wireless device transmits a control signal to any wirelessly connected motorized window covering instructing it to move in a directed manner. • Publication number: 20140352897
Abstract: An architectural covering with a roll tube rotatably connected to mounting brackets at opposing ends and having shade material wrapped around the roll tube. The roll tube has a hollow interior with a motor assembly, a battery tube assembly and a spring assembly positioned within the hollow interior of the roll tube. One end of the architectural covering is mounted to a top loading bracket whereas the opposite end of the architectural covering is connected to a bottom loading bracket. The bottom loading bracket includes a recessed portion having an axel opening and a deflectable clip member that covers the axel opening. As an axel is inserted into the bracket, the clip member deflects allowing the axel to enter the axel slot and the clip member locks the axel into the axel slot. In this way an improved method of installing architectural coverings is presented.

  • Patent number: 8892262
Abstract: A programmable wall station system for controlling automated coverings includes at least one automated covering adapted to receive command signals, and a computer which includes a processor and a computer connection port. The processor is programmed to receive location input, position input for the automated coverings, schedule input, and generate scheduled events based on any of the received input. A wall station includes a controller and a station connection port that is linkable to the computer connection port. The controller is programmed to receive scheduled events from the processor when the station connection port and computer connection port are linked to one another and generate command signals based on the scheduled events for receipt by the automated covering to control its operation.

  • Patent number: 8400264
Abstract: An operator system and related methods for automatically controlling access barriers which includes a base controller associated with at least one access barrier and at least one base receiver associated with the base controller. The system also includes at least one mobile transmitter that automatically and periodically generates at least one mobile signal detectable by the base receiver. The base controller selectively generates barrier movement commands upon receipt of the at least one mobile signal. Timers may be used to block receipt of any mobile signals for a period of time to prevent any further door movement. Such a system allows for hands-free operation of the access barrier. A discrete processing system may also be used to retrofit existing barrier operator systems for use in hands-free operation.

  • Patent number: 8299893
Abstract: Mobile transmitter configured to control any compatible barrier operator so as to move an access barrier to a closed position based on the change in angular and/or linear position of a carrying device. The mobile transmitter includes a position sensor and an activity sensor to monitor the change in position of the carrying device. Thus, when the angular and/or linear position of the carrying device changes by an amount greater than a predetermined threshold, the mobile transmitter automatically communicates a mobile command signal to the barrier operator commanding it to close the access barrier.

  • Patent number: 8220519
Abstract: A movable door panel having a front facer with opposed longitudinal edge profiles, rails secured to the longitudinal edge profiles, a rear facer secured to the rails, and foam disposed within an inner volume defined by the front facer, the rails and the rear facer is disclosed. Transverse stiffeners are disposed within the inner volume and the foam, and extend between the opposed rails. The door panel may be made by continuously providing the front facer with a rail secured thereto, continuously positioning transverse stiffeners on the front facer and extending between the metal rails, and continuously applying a foaming material on the front facer and the transverse stiffeners. The method concludes by bringing a rear facer into contact with the metal rails, and drawing the panel through a laminator. Hardware may then be attached to one or both of the facers and the stiffener.

  • Patent number: 8179229
Abstract: An operator system provides a mobile transmitter configured to communicate with a base operator to automatically open and close an access barrier based on the position of a carrying device that maintains the mobile transmitter. The mobile transmitter periodically transmits a mobile open signal as it moves away from the reception range of the base operator until that signal is lost. When the base operator again receives the open signal, the access barrier is automatically opened. In addition, the mobile transmitter is configured to monitor the change in position of the carrying device as it moves away from the enclosure. When the angular and/or linear position of the carrying device changes by an amount greater than a predetermined threshold, the mobile transmitter automatically transmits a mobile close signal to the base operator to close the access barrier.

  • Patent number: 8085129
Abstract: An operator system for automatically controlling access barriers based on movement of a carrying device. The system consists of an operator controller associated with an access barrier, a base receiver associated with the base controller, and a mobile transmitter that includes an activity sensor configured to monitor movement in at least one axis of movement and a mobile emitter. The mobile transmitter is configured to automatically emit from the mobile emitter a mobile open signal and a mobile close signal containing at least one warning data bit that is placed in a set state when the activity sensor first detects a change in movement of the mobile transmitter. The base receiver receives the mobile open signal and mobile close signal, and the operator controller resets a last process variable when the at least one warning bit is received.
