  • Publication number: 20070185883
Abstract: Provided is a system and method for employing a single instantiation of a web form for multiple data requests. A user displays a form that the user would like to submit for multiple data requests. The user executes a form extension utility. The form extension utility either modifies the form to enable the entry of multiple data requests or generates and displays a data entry spreadsheet corresponding to the web form. Once the user has entered the required information, the form extension utility generates multiple queries. The user selects a format for the results and the form extension utility submits the multiple requests to the appropriate server. The server returns results for each submitted request. The form extension utility receives the results transmitted from the server, formats the results according to the user-selected format and displays the results.

  • Publication number: 20070185679
Abstract: Systems and methods of indicating status of a diagnostic test system are described. In one aspect, a diagnostic test system includes a housing, an indicator system, and a test unit in the housing. The indicator system produces a non-textual sensory output signal that is perceptible from an area outside the housing. The test unit performs at least one diagnostic test on a diagnostic assay to determine whether at least one analyte is present within a sample. The test unit also produces a status indicator control signal triggering the indicator system to indicate a status of the diagnostic test via the non-textual sensory output signal.

  • Publication number: 20070185307
Abstract: Polyalkylene glycol compositions having reduced low molecular weight oligomers are disclosed. Some compositions, particularly polyethylene glycol compositions, have a number average molecular weight range from about 3000 to about 10,000 g/mol and have a total oligomer concentration of less than about 400 ppm of all oligomers having a molecular weight of less than or equal to 812 g/mol and a total oligomer concentration of less than about 50 ppm of all oligomers having a molecular weight of less than or equal to 240 g/mol. Other polyalkylene compositions, particularly polyethylene glycol compositions, are characterized by a total oligomer concentration of less than about 90 ppm of all oligomers having a molecular weight less than or equal to 460 g/mol and are obtained without further processing to remove oligomers having a molecular weight of less than about 460 g/mol. Methods for making such compositions are also disclosed.

  • Publication number: 20070182129
Abstract: Suspension systems are provided for skis. In some implementations, the suspension system includes a spring-like element and a support structure configured to attach one end of the spring-like element to the central half of the longitudinal running length of a ski body. The spring-like element is configured so that the opposite end of the spring-like element contacts the ski body at a contact point on the front-most or rear-most fifth of the longitudinal running length of the ski body, and applies a downward force at the contact point such that the degree of free camber of the ski is increased relative to the natural free camber of the ski body without the suspension system attached.

  • Publication number: 20070185376
Abstract: A system for positioning a laparoscopic device includes a curvilinear articulating arm and a holder. The holder has at least two rotational regions and a clamping portion for receiving the laparoscopic device, and the holder is coupled to the curvilinear articulating arm. The at least two rotational regions are permitted to articulate. In addition, a method of positioning a laparoscopic device in a skin port of a mammal includes: securing the laparoscopic device to a holder having at least two rotational joints; coupling the holder to a curvilinear articulating arm; disposing the laparoscopic device partially within the skin port; positioning the laparoscopic device by selectively articulating the curvilinear articulating arm and selectively rotating portions of the holder with respect to one another.

  • Publication number: 20070185872
Abstract: A method and apparatus for managing locks in a database system is provided. A master node grants a lock on a first resource and a group of resources that includes the first resource to a first requester node. The requester node receives a mapping corresponding to the group of resources that may indicate that a lock already exists for a second resource in the group. If the requester node desires a lock on a resource located in the group, the requester node grants itself the lock without notifying the master node. A second requester node requests a lock for a particular resource in the group of resources. The first requester node grants the lock on the particular resource and updates the mapping to indicate that a different node holds a lock for the particular resource.

  • Patent number: 7252714
Abstract: Apparatus and method for thermally controlled processing of microelectronic workpieces with liquids. An apparatus in accordance with and embodiment of the invention includes a process vessel configured to carry a processing liquid, such as an electroless processing liquid. The vessel has a thermally transmissive wall for transferring heat to and/or from the processing liquid within. A heat transfer device, such as a reservoir that receives processing liquid spilling over from the process vessel, transfers heat to or from the processing liquid within the process vessel. The heat transfer device can also transfer heat to or from an internal or external heat source, such as a conduit carrying a heat transfer fluid, or an electrical resistance heater.

  • Patent number: 7252421
Abstract: A vehicular light assembly including a dichroic lamp, a socket, a cradle and an optional support to mount the assembly to a vehicle. The dichroic lamp includes a reflector which reflects light emitted by the bulb forward but allows radiant heat to pass rearwardly through the reflector. The dichroic lamp also includes an electrode electrically coupled with a socket which defines at least one of a recess and an aperture, the socket including an electrical connector. The cradle defines a chamber, and the socket and dichroic lamp both are positioned in the chamber. The cradle includes a locating pin that registers with the at least one of a recess and an aperture to selectively locate the dichroic lamp within the cradle. A related installation method includes: joining the light assembly cradle with a vehicle, and aligning the lamp assembly so that it focuses light on a pathway of the vehicle.

  • Patent number: 7254766
Abstract: The apparatus and method herein splits the function of a digital subscriber line (DSL) modem data pump between a digital signal processor (DSP 106) and a general purpose host central processing unit (CPU 102). The DSP (106) handles all front end data pump processing such as interface to an analog front end (108 and 110), FFT processing, FEQ processing, QAM decoding, and bit formatting. The host CPU (102) handles all back end data pump processing such as DMT tone deordering, data deinterleaving, error detection and correcting, bit descrambling, CRC processing, and the like. In order to enable the DSP (106) and the CPU (102) to communicate with each other effectively, buffers (132) under the control of specialized buffer management methodology (FIG. 4) are used.

  • Publication number: 20070179597
Abstract: Medical devices, and in particular implantable medical devices, may be coated to minimize or substantially eliminate a biological organism's reaction to the introduction of the medical device to the organism. The medical devices may be coated with any number of biocompatible materials. Therapeutic drugs, agents or compounds may be mixed with the biocompatible materials and affixed to at least a portion of the medical device. These therapeutic drugs, agents or compounds may also further reduce a biological organism's reaction to the introduction of the medical device to the organism.
