  • Publication number: 20070180492
Abstract: A device and method for placing the device in a locked state having an associated set of permitted tasks so as to permit the device owner to share the device with others but maintain security over aspects of the device. A task change request is evaluated to determine whether the requested task is permitted and, if so, the requested task is allowed; if not, then an authorization process is invoked to prompt the user to input authorization data. Upon verification of the authorization data, the device may be unlocked and the requested change implemented. The permitted tasks may designate specific applications, specific operations or functions within applications or at the operating system level, one or more currently open windows, and other levels of granularity.

  • Publication number: 20070180204
Abstract: Herein described are a method and a system for deleting a data pool generated by a data storage device. The data pool may be generated using a networked data storage device that comprises one or more data storage drives. The method may be implemented by way of erasing metadata associated with the data pool. The method may further comprise erasing data associated with the data pool wherein the data resides within one or more partition payloads of one or more partitions of one or more data storage drives. The system may be implemented using a memory, a software resident in the memory, and a processor for executing the software. When the processor executes the software, metadata associated with forming the data pool may be erased. Furthermore, any data stored in the data pool may be erased.

  • Publication number: 20070179422
Abstract: A tubular medical fluid flow set comprises a pressure sensing chamber connected in flow-through relation to fluid flow tubing of the set. The pressure sensing chamber defines a movable, flexible, impermeable diaphragm dividing the chamber into two separate compartments. The fluid flow tubing communicates with one of the compartments and is isolated from the other of the compartments. A port is carried on the chamber, the port having a seal therein, and communicating with the other of the compartments. Thus, the other of the compartments is hermetically sealed until the port is opened for connection with a pressure measuring device, to keep the flexible diaphragm in a desired, initial position prior to opening of the seal.

  • Publication number: 20070175083
Abstract: A soft plastic articulating fishing lure includes a head and a plurality of body sections integrally molded with hinge sections. The hinge sections are preferably smaller in height than the respective body sections they join to promote increased swimming action at lower pull speed. Central body sections are preferably molded with relatively rounded back and relatively flatter front to promote water flow to effect swim-like movement of the lure. When fished, the lure articulates at the hinge joints only. In one embodiment, the head portion includes a molded slot, and a weighted insert is provided therein defining eyes for fishing line and hook, and a weights for lure control. In another embodiment, an insert with hook is provided within a slot in the head of the head and the hook is caused to rotate upwards out of the recess and into the mouth of the fish to hook the fish.

  • Publication number: 20070178589
Abstract: A disclosure is made of various apparatus and methods for culturing and preserving cells and tissue in ways that minimize contamination potential, direct cells to reside in desired areas, allow uniform cell distribution during seeding, provide optimal growth conditions by controlling the amount of medium residing in proximity of cells, allow desired compounds and molecules to reside in proximity of the cells, allow co-culture, provide for efficient scale up, allow a desired shape of tissue to be created while retaining a closed system, and allow cryopreservation and reconstitution of cell and tissue while retaining a closed system. The apparatus and methods can be combined to prevent the need to remove the tissue from the enclosure at any point during the sterilization, seeding, culturing, cryopreservation, shipping, or restoration process. Also disclosed is an apparatus and method of pipette interface with a container in a manner that blocks contaminants from entering the container.

  • Publication number: 20070176029
Abstract: An electrostatic spraying device has a removable cartridge with a reservoir containing a volume of liquid compositions to be electrically sprayed. The device includes a nozzle for dispensing the liquid and an emitter electrode disposed adjacent to the nozzle for charging the liquid composition just being dispensed from the nozzle. A field electrode surrounds the reservoir in order to charge the liquid composition within the reservoir, thereby avoiding an occurrence of electric current which would deteriorate the composition remaining in the reservoir. The reservoir is at least partially made of deformable material such that the reservoir is capable of receiving pressure to deform and thus supply the liquid composition out of the reservoir. Thus, the reservoir can be designed into a simple and compact structure, thereby providing an increased liquid containing volume in relation to the bulk of the removable cartridge.

  • Publication number: 20070175600
Abstract: The invention relates to blinds, components of blinds and assembly of blinds, and particularly to the tilt mechanism of a Venetian blind. The tilt mechanism includes a slider element to which the cords of the cord ladder are attached. The slider element has a base portion fixedly mounted in an aperture of the head rail, and a sliding portion. The ladder cords are routed through holes in the base portion, through a void between the sliding portion and the base portion and out of the ends of the slider element. The ends of the ladder cords are secured proximate respective ends of the sliding portion. The void is divided into separate chambers and the holes of the base portion communicate each with a respective chamber. A further hole and chamber may be provided to accommodate a lift cord. Tangling of the cords is eliminated, and the compact arrangement allows a slim and attractive head rail to be used.
