  • Patent number: 10455420
Abstract: To provide overall security to a utility management system, critical command and control messages that are issued to components of the system are explicitly approved by a secure authority. The explicit approval authenticates the requested action and authorizes the performance of the specific action indicated in a message. Key components of the utility management and control system that are associated with access control are placed in a physical bunker. With this approach, it only becomes necessary to bunker those subsystems that are responsible for approving network actions. Other management modules can remain outside the bunker, thereby avoiding the need to partition them into bunkered and non-bunkered components. Access to critical components of each of the non-bunkered subsystems is controlled through the bunkered approval system.

  • Patent number: 10454915
Abstract: Embodiments authenticate a user in response to receiving from a Kerberos key distribution center (“KDC”) a request to authenticate the user that includes a user identification (“ID”). Embodiments retrieve a user record corresponding to the user ID, the user record including a principal key. Embodiments decrypt the principal key using a tenant-specific encryption key and encrypt the decrypted principal key using a Kerberos master key to generate an encrypted principal key. Embodiments retrieve a password policy corresponding to the user ID. Based on the retrieved password policies, embodiments construct password state attributes and return to the KDC the encrypted principal key, the password policy and the password state attributes.

  • Patent number: 10453139
Abstract: The disclosure details the implementation of an apparatus, method, and system for a macroeconomic equity investment design and trade system (the Wavefront system). The disclosure teaches a set of quantitative tools to help investors design trades around macro themes. Part of the approach is a linked set of models called Wavefronts, which describe how economic shocks ripple through the economy into company performance, market value and equity returns in the US market. In one embodiment, the modeling may be viewed as having in three parts. The first converts an economic shock into a comprehensive set of shifts in the economy. The second takes those economic shifts and drives them into company fundamentals. The third values those fundamentals based on what the market normally pays.

  • Publication number: 20190316754
Abstract: A solid state, bidirectional light sheet and method of fabricating the sheet are disclosed. In one embodiment, bare LED chips have top and bottom electrodes, where the bottom electrode is a large reflective electrode. An array of LEDs (e.g., 500 LEDs) is sandwiched between at least two transparent substrates having conductors bonded to the electrodes without wires. Various ways to connect the LEDs in series are described along with various embodiments. The light sheets are formed to emit light from opposite surfaces of the light sheet to create a bidirectional light sheet. The light sheet may be suspended from a ceiling to be perpendicular to the ceiling, or the angles of the light sheet may be adjusted. The suspended light sheet may form a cylinder for uniform illumination of the floor and ceiling. Lenses may be formed in the light sheet to emit light at any peak intensity angle to achieve any light emission pattern.

  • Publication number: 20190320063
Abstract: A method for detecting user triggered call drops includes identifying one or more user terminated calls from a plurality of monitored calls. Signaling information associated with the identified user terminated calls is correlated with media channel information associated with the identified user terminated calls. A determination is made if termination of the one or more of the identified user terminated calls is related to quality of media across corresponding media channels. A predefined cause code is assigned to the one or more of the identified user terminated calls, in response to determining that the termination of the one or more of the identified user terminated calls is related to the quality of media across the corresponding media channels.
