    Abstract: Disclosed herein is a submersible pool cleaning vehicle having an endless loop track. The vehicle including a housing and the housing having members for moving the vehicle around the pool surface. The vehicle including an endless loop track. The track having an exterior and an interior, the interior having a series of ribs and ridges, the ribs having a predetermined width and pitch. The ribs being centrally located on the track while the ridges flank either side of the ribs. The vehicle including drive members for moving the vehicle around the pool surface. The drive members and associated members for moving the vehicle have an exterior surface with a series of grooves and ridges for compatible connection with the ribs. The width of the rib is substantially smaller than the width of the groove and the track ribs engaging the groves.

    Abstract: Disclosed herein is a device for facilitating the quick exchange of one pool appliance for another. The device includes a housing, which spans the opening in the upstanding wall of an above ground pool. The opening is typically used by existing above ground pools for water intake and outlet, filtering, water leveling and the like. On the interior side of the pool, the waterside, the housing includes a quick release receptacle adapted to fit a variety of pool appliances. The receptacle includes means to conduct electricity usable for such pool appliances. On the exterior side of the pool, the housing includes an adapter designed to accept a pool power head. The power head connects to a residential or similar power source and is converted to a usable power supply for pool appliances. The receptacle allows exchange of appliances to be made even while the connective portion of the appliance is underwater.

    Abstract: Disclosed herein is an improved pool cleaning vehicle. The vehicle includes a housing, a bottom frame and a filter bag between the housing the bottom frame and attached to the bottom frame. The vehicle includes an intake system for causing water to enter the vehicle housing and to trap dirt and debris in the filter bag. The intake system includes more than one intake, which are typically mounted front and aft of the vehicle. The vehicle includes an outlet for flowing water passing through the filter bag back into the pool. Of course, both of the intake and outlet ports are in communication with the filter bag. The housing typically includes a bottom frame. Both the housing and the bottom frame have side openings defining vents, which serve as side intake ports. In an exemplary embodiment, the intake ports include a duct attached thereto. The duct has an open duct intake. In another exemplary embodiment, the front and/or aft intake port include a duct.

    Abstract: Disclosed herein is an improved electrolytic cell. The cell includes at least one pair of electrodes, an anode and a cathode. In general the anode includes at least one dimension, which is substantially greater than the cathode. In an exemplary embodiment, the length and the width of the anode are greater than the length and width of the cathode. In a first embodiment of a multi-cell chlorine generator, unequal dimension electrodes are stacked together. In a second embodiment of such a generator, the electrodes are of equal dimensions. In another exemplary embodiment of the improved electrolytic cell in accordance with this invention, the cathode forms a U-shaped member and the anode of at least one dimension being greater is located there between. Another embodiment of the chlorine generator includes at least two cells having the U-shaped cathode. In a first exemplary of embodiment of such a chlorine generator, the electrode are parallel to one another.

    Abstract: Disclosed herein is a pool light assembly having structure for providing cooling to pools having illumination features. The light assembly includes a water inlet housing having a portion on the dry side and a portion immersed in the pool water. A threaded assembly having sealing structure creates a leak proof connection with the pool wall. On the portion of the housing immersed in pool water, the housing includes a flange defining a base. The base has an exterior exposed to the pool water and an enclosed interior including the illuminating structure. A notch is provided in the exterior of the base and extends into the interior for allowing pool water in the proximity of the illumination structure. Sealing structure prevent water from entering the electrically active elements of the illuminating structure while allowing close proximity for cooling pool water to act as a cooling element for the illuminating structure.

The manifold having exit ports and the exit ports being positioned directly over the contact area for directing the accelerated air flow at the contact area and the motor housing having at least one opening aligned with the contact area and at least a second opening defining an exit vent. Additionally, a method of cooling the motor in accordance with the invention is also disclosed.

In another, the cleaning structure includes multiple inserts.

Located within the interior is a pump and a filter bag. The housing also includes a bottom, which is generally curved in a concave manner. The housing further includes a chassis. The pump creates a vacuum for sucking up dirt and debris into the filter bag through intakes in the housing. The housing including first and second pairs of wheels connected to the chassis. Between the front and second wheels is a middle roller, also connected to the chassis. In a first embodiment, the middle roller includes a single roller, which is approximately the same diameter as the wheels of the first and second pairs of wheels. In other embodiments, the wheels of the middle roller are larger or smaller. In yet another embodiment, the middle roller includes a series of wheels.

A V-shaped self locking clip with normally outwardly extending legs serves as the attachment member and when urged toward each other with the housing in the locked position allows for easy release. At least one of the intake or outlet includes a filter member. The filter member includes a means for attachment and a particulate filter member for filtering particulates from the water. The filter member is attached to the vehicle at or proximate to the perimeter of the intake or outlet.
