  • Patent number: 4453704
Abstract: According to the present invention a plurality of blanks (2) to be surface machined in working machines are placed side by side and fixed in a frame (1), open at both sides, in such a way that the blanks (2) can be machined at least at two sides while the fixation of the blanks (2) in the frame (1) is maintained. The blanks (2) are fixed tensionless in the frame (1) in such a position where the blanks bear against the frame sides on which the machining forces work during machining. The frame (1) with the blanks (2) fixed therein is first kept clamped with one side (4) resting against a machine support (6), while the portions (17) of the blanks (2) at the opposite side (5) are machined. After that the frame (1) is turned in such a way that the blanks (2) with its machine portions (17) rest against a support (6) consisting of a plane magnet plate, whereupon the blanks (2) are machined on the side (18) facing away from said support (6).

  • Patent number: 4195956
Abstract: In slotting tools with exchangeable cutting inserts the insert is adapted to be clamped between two narrow jaws situated exactly above each other in the front end of a holder the lower jaw of which is formed integrally with the holder and defines the cutting seat. The upper jaw, the front portion of which reaches outside the principal part of the holder, consists of a loose member which is adapted to be inserted in a recess in the principal part of the holder, behind the cutting seat of the lower jaw, and is locked against lateral displacement. This loose member is retained in its position in the recess exclusively because of the tightening effect provided between the jaws over the clamped cutting insert.

  • Patent number: 3959861
Abstract: A clamping arrangement for securing a cutting bit insert in a tool holder. The bit is held by an elongated lever like clamp that pivots on one end and is urged down against the bit by a retaining screw, the bit and clamp are accomodated within an inwardly sloping recess in the tool holder, and the parts are dimensioned such that the top of the clamp lies below the imaginarily extended surface of the tool holder, whereby hot cut chips from the workpiece are prevented from contacting and damaging the clamps.
