  • Patent number: 6883968
Abstract: A shaped part made from a strip, peripherally contiguous ends of the strip being firmly connected to each other is characterized in that a recess (6) is arranged on one end of the strip (1) and an over-dimensioned projection (7) is arranged on the other end of the strip (1), and after bending round of the strip (1), said ends are fit into each other in axial or radial direction so that through a plastic deformation, an undetachable interference fit results between said ends.

  • Patent number: 6827498
Abstract: An axial bearing comprising two runner plates held together by a resilient retaining ring having two angled settings. The retaining ring has holding lugs whose circumcircle can be changed in diameter D1 or D2 by a resilient reversible changeover to selectively hold the runner plates together or release the holding.

  • Publication number: 20040238313
Abstract: The friction clutch between the prime mover and the change-speed transmission in the power train of a motor vehicle is actuatable by a slave cylinder cooperating with a master cylinder wherein the piston is movable by a clutch pedal or by an electric actuator. The casing of the slave cylinder is made, at least in part, of a plastic material and defines a plenum chamber arranged to receive pressurized fluid from the master cylinder by way of a conduit extending through a bell which contains the clutch and the slave cylinder. The annular piston of the slave cylinder surrounds the input shaft of the transmission. The plastic material of the casing of the slave cylinder can contain one or more additives which enhance its strength and/or influence its frictional engagement with the adjacent surfaces of the piston or of a lip seal which reciprocates with the piston.

  • Publication number: 20040105604
Abstract: An axial angle disk, formed in one piece, has a radial segment to which an axially bent part is connected that is provided at at least one point on a periphery thereof with a holding projection that protrudes radially. The holding projection (2.2.1, 5.2.1, 8.2.1, 8.3.1) is formed with by stamping such that an uninterrupted material connection is realized between the bent part (2.2, 5.2, 8.2, 8.3) and the holding projection (2.2.1, 5.2.1, 8.2.1, 8.3.1). The projection height, extending in the radial direction, has maximum magnitude s of ⅔ of the wall thickness b of the axially bent part (2.2, 5.2, 8.2, 8.3).

  • Publication number: 20040038742
Abstract: A displacement joint includes an outer joint part having circumferentially spaced recesses to form tracks. A tripod is mounted in fixed rotative engagement to a driveshaft and includes a tripod spider which has spherical arms spaced circumferentially in symmetric disposition for engaging the recesses. Roller bearing assemblies are fitted in the outer joint part to support the tripod arms, with each tripod arm guided by two roller bearing assemblies. Each roller bearing assembly has a bearing shell, which receives the tripod arm, rolling members fitted with clearance in a cage and disposed between the track of the outer joint part and a contact surface of the bearing shell. The cage is guided by shoulders of the outer joint part, which laterally bound the track, wherein the cage has opposite collars in parallel relationship to the shoulders for providing an axial stop for the rolling members and the bearing shell.

  • Patent number: 6648519
Abstract: In a cage for cylindrical rolling bearings (5), which cage is rolled out of a sheet metal strip (12), the pockets (4), as seen in a top view, have, in a profiled, punched and unbent state of the sheet metal strip (12), a curved shape in a region of the inclined sections (8, 9), so that an axially inner, first convex curve B1 merges into an outer, second concave curve B2. This pocket contour of the invention makes it possible to obtain a separation between the retention of the rolling elements and the contact region of the rolling elements in the cage solely by the punching of the pockets in combination with a subsequent bending of the cage strip into a finished cage.

  • Patent number: 6367983
Abstract: The invention relates to a window cage (1) for a needle bearing. The pockets (5) of said window cage are formed by punched out sections and by a stamping process with material displacement in a cage strip (9) which is then bent round. According to the invention, the window cage (1) is characterized in that before the cage strip (9) is bent, the opposite surfaces of the web walls of a pocket (5) are made up of three sub-surfaces (10, 11, 12) in the area of the retaining projections (7, 8). The first two sub-surfaces (10) follow a course which is parallel to a middle vertical (13) and each extend into a second sub-surface (11) at their upper end, said second sub-surface running diagonally in the direction of the central point of the pocket. Each of the second sub-surfaces then ends in a third sub-surface (12) which also runs parallel to the middle vertical (13).
