  • Patent number: 8066116
Abstract: A conveyor belt has a mono-ply construction comprising a central fabric ply, top and bottom cover layers and a connection interconnecting the opposite ends of the belt. The top and bottom cover layers are removed from the opposite ends of the belt to define exposed fabric ply regions which are arranged in a mutually overlapping relationship. Two connection plates extend generally over the entire width of the conveyor belt on opposite sides thereof, and fasteners extend through the connection plates and the opposite ends of the conveyor belt to form a secure, yet flexible, connection.

  • Patent number: 6170128
Abstract: This invention relates to a connection for two ends (2,4) of a conveyor belt (1), comprising connection elements (6) which are attached by means of fixing elements (7) to the conveyor belt ends (2, 3). A covering (17), which covers the connection elements (6) and the fixing elements (7) thereof, is disposed on at least one face of the conveyor belt (1). A fastener (21) for the covering (17) cooperates with the connection elements (6). In order to create a connection which is distinguished by its particularly prolonged durability, the invention essentially proposes that the respective fastener (21) is attached to one or both limbs (11) of the connection element of U-shaped form, or to a plate or to plates which are disposed on both faces of the conveyor belt and which rigidly connect the conveyor belt ends. (FIG. 2).

  • Patent number: 6081995
Abstract: The invention pertains to an installation for fastening a connecting elem (1), specifically a U-shaped one, to the end (9) of a conveyor belt (10) with a peg-shaped fastening element (7). The fastening element is pushed through entry openings in the connecting element and through the conveyor belt, and is deformed at least in the area of its preceding end by a ram (36) that has a deforming contour, and is located in a tool (16). According to the invention, there follows also a secondary deformation of this area by a pressure bar (38), which is brought into contact with the tool containing the ram and the deformed end of the fastening element, after the contour of the fastening element had been already deformed.
