  • Publication number: 20100111625
Abstract: So-called decoking, in other words, the emptying of a container in which coke arising from the operation of a refinery is deposited and carried out using a decoking tool with a free mounting on the end of a drilling bar. The mounting is achieved using a sliding guide on a guide plate, coupled to the container. Distortions in the container and the guide plate therewith as a result of temperature variations during operation of the refinery which could lead to function disturbance of the drilling rod are avoided, wherein the sliding guide and the guide plate are arranged with a spring relative deflection by at least one spring element in the manner of a spring damper.

  • Publication number: 20100077876
Abstract: A device for testing decoking tools comprises means 30 for receiving the decoking tool 31 which can be connected to a high-pressure water conduit, as well as means for testing the water jet which exits from a nozzle of the decoking tool 31 following the opening of the high-pressure water conduit. It is possible to test, measure and analyse the high-pressure water jet exiting from the nozzle by means of this testing device in order to optimize the performance of the decoking tool on the basis of the results of this examination. According to the method of the invention the high-pressure water jet generated by means of the nozzles of the decoking tool is exposed to means for testing the high-pressure water jet.

  • Patent number: 5014281
Abstract: A gas laser includes a laser gas circuit having a by-pass line. The by-pass line includes a condenser for removing water vapor. During normal operation, the laser gas flows through the by-pass line as well as through the remaining portion of the laser gas circuit so that the water vapor portion in the laser gas flowing through the by-pass line is partly removed by the condenser. For the purpose of defrosting the condenser, the by-pass line is isolated from the rest of the laser gas circuit and, if required, is evacuated several times and rinsed with fresh laser gas. During normal operation, the gas laser can be operated with a substantially lower fresh gas supply than piror art circulating lasers.

  • Patent number: 4406447
Abstract: A device for positioning a sheet separator for a stack of sheets in a sheet feeder includes a drive for the sheet separator operable for moving the latter in two opposite directions. A stop gauge for the rear edge of the sheet stack is slidably supported on an insulating block which is rotatable on the sheet separator. The lower end of the stop gauge is provided with a feeler roller to engage the upper side of the stack, and the opposite end of the stop gauge is provided with a flag cooperating with an inductive switch. The latter switch controls the direction of rotation of the driving motor for the separator. The rotary block controls another switch which stops the motor when the separator attains its desired position. A light barrier switch is arranged at the level of the desired height of the stack and determines the active or inactive condition of the positioning device.

  • Patent number: 4245830
Abstract: A sheet feeding unit includes a stack elevator which raises the top of a supported stack of sheets to infeed height. A sensor senses the position of the top sheets of the stack, to ascertain whether these exhibit improper left or right offset. Depending upon the magnitude and size of the sensed offset, the stack elevator is correctively shifted, to minimize offset at the top of the stack. Although the sensor is located to only one side of the stack, not at both sides of the stack, it is capable of sensing offset in both left and right directions. When the elevator is lowered, for the laying in of a fresh stack, it is automatically brought to a centered position.
