  • Patent number: 5812778
Abstract: To provide an interactive video service, a system is disclosed comprising a video server (VOD), an integrated services digital network (ISDN), and customer premises equipment (END) with a video telephone (TEL). The video server (VOD) has a memory (MEMO) in which a number of video signals, e.g., newscasts, are stored, as well as a transmitting unit (SEN) and a receiving unit (EMP), by means of which it is connected with the video telephone (TEL) via the integrated services digital network (ISDN). Via the video telephone (TEL), the customer calls the video server (VOD) to establish a switched connection, and selects from among a number of video signals available. By means of a control unit (CTRL) in the video server (VOD), the selected video signal is read from the memory of the video server and transmitted in real time over the switched connection to the video telephone (TEL). The customer can release the connection at any time, whereby the transmission of the video signal is stoppped.

  • Patent number: 5417567
Abstract: A holder means for the partial thermal treatment in an oven, especially a cuum chamber oven that provides compressed gas quenching, of tools or workpieces, especially drill bits, that have a working portion and a portion that is to be clamped. The workpieces, which are guided by a base plate that is provided with holes, rest upright upon a bottom plate. The base plate is provided with a radiation shield on that side that faces the oven chamber. The upper surface of the radiation shield has a high emission factor for thermal radiation, and the radiation shield is disposed directly on the base plate.

  • Patent number: 5092419
Abstract: An all-wheel steering control or regulating device for vehicle rear wheel steering, which is motor-driven and permits any desired predeterminable steering angles of the rear wheels as a function of the steering angles of the front wheels or other parameters. In the event of error detection in the system, a drive motor of the rear wheel steering is switched to an inoperative condition and a hydraulic positive coupling between front wheel steering and rear wheel steering is simultaneously established by means of separate piston-cylinder units, with the result that the rear wheels are steered simultaneously with the front wheels.

  • Patent number: 5052923
Abstract: An oven for the partial heat treatment of tools, for example, twist drills, omprises a first section, which contains the heating chamber that is constantly at the desired operating temperature. A second section for the loading and unloading and the quenching is provided. Between the two sections there is arranged a transport device for the charges of tools. The oven may be in the form of a one-chamber or three-chamber vacuum oven. The oven provides a high heat transfer rate, because the heating chamber is constantly at the desired operating temperature and the heat transfer by heat radiation under vacuum is started immediately when the charge is at its final position inside the heating chamber.

  • Patent number: 4970372
Abstract: A furnace for the thermal treatment of charges of iron and steel components. A cylindrical, vertical heating chamber is disposed within a housing. A plurality of vertical heating elements are disposed in the heating chamber. To accelerate the heating-up of a charge that is disposed within the heating chamber, especially in the lower temperature range, the heating elements have a tubular construction and are provided at their bottom end with an outlet opening. Gas conveyed by a fan flows through the heating elements, at which time it is convectively heated, and thereafter passes into the interior of the heating chamber. In the higher temperature range, the heating elements transfer their heat to the charge as radiant heat, with the furnace then operating in a vacuum.

  • Patent number: 4750463
Abstract: An electronically regulated fuel injection system for an internal combustion engine with a switchable safety and emergency driving device has a mechanical coupling which mechanically couples the accelerator pedal to the regulator. This coupling operatively interferes with a mechanical connection between a controller and the final control element that determines the quantity of fuel to be injected, after a fault signal has been outputted by a signal processing unit to a switchover element, which switches over control of the final control element to the simple regulator.

  • Patent number: 4310321
Abstract: An adjustable drive for auxiliary aggregates of internal combustion engines in which some auxiliary aggregates such as the fan are adapted to be driven from the crankshaft of the internal combustion engine by way of an adjustable V-belt drive automatically regulatable under the influence of the centrifugal force in such a manner that at smaller crankshaft rotational speeds, a transmission with a speed-up results whereas at higher crankshaft rotational speeds a transmission with a speed reduction results; the control range of the V-belt drive is thereby subdivided at least into two partial ranges by a corresponding matching of the lever arms of the flyweights and/or of the spring forces, respectively, of the spring forces themselves, between which lies a range with constant transmission ratio.
