  • Patent number: 10974802
Abstract: A vessel energy management system for controlling power supply to and from a propulsion system of a vessel. The energy management system has a motor-generator unit adapted to receive power from a prime mover of the vessel, a frequency converter, an energy storage unit, and a controller. According to different embodiments, the energy storage unit includes one or more capacitors, super capacitors or ultra capacitors. The controller determines an instantaneous power requirement of the propulsion system and an average power generated by the prime mover. A comparator compares the instantaneous required power and average power. If the instantaneous required power exceeds the average power, the motor-generator unit receives energy from the energy storage unit. If the instantaneous required power is less than the average power, the motor-generator unit supplies power from the prime mover to the energy storage unit.

  • Patent number: 8297888
Abstract: A hydraulic prop 1 is provided for use in underground mining and tunnel construction and is to be used above all in the shield support. In this shield support or in the hydraulic prop 1, the exterior pipe 15 having the foot connection part 16 and the handle 17 and the interior pipe 19 having the head plate 20 are effectively connected together via spring steel wire ties 35 which are disposed or are to be disposed in corresponding connecting grooves 36, 37, 38 or 39, 40 41 such that in the transition region 42 sufficiently high forces can be transferred so as to ensure a connection between the components which is effective and remains effective. A setting pressure of 600 t can be realized at about 700 bar with the corresponding equipment. The connecting technique permits the use of high-strength thinner-walled pipes.

  • Patent number: 8191573
Abstract: The aim of the invention is to protect hydraulic assemblies, in particular those used for hydraulic longwall working in coal mining. To achieve this, pressure regulating valves (1) are used, the damping chambers of which (20) are located, configured and connected to the inlet side (5) in such a way that a system pressure constantly prevails in said chamber (20) and only drains in a restricted manner when the pressure in the regulating valve (1) is released, thus preventing the occurrence of detrimental vibrations.
