  • Publication number: 20100119311
Abstract: A hydraulic prop 1 is provided for use in underground mining and tunnel construction and is to be used above all in the shield support. In this shield support or in the hydraulic prop 1, the exterior pipe 15 having the foot connection part 16 and the handle 17 and the interior pipe 19 having the head plate 20 are effectively connected together via spring steel wire ties 35 which are disposed or are to be disposed in corresponding connecting grooves 36, 37, 38 or 39, 40, 41 such that in the transition region 42 sufficiently high forces can be transferred so as to ensure a connection between the components which is effective and remains effective. A setting pressure of 600 t can be realised at about 700 bar with the corresponding equipment, wherein in an advantageous manner this particular connecting technique permits the use of high-strength pipes which results in considerably thinner-walled pipes.

  • Publication number: 20090199912
Abstract: The aim of the invention is to protect hydraulic assemblies, in particular those used for hydraulic longwall working in coal mining. To achieve this, pressure regulating valves (1) are used, the damping chambers of which (20) are located, configured and connected to the inlet side (5) in such a way that a system pressure constantly prevails in said chamber (20) and only drains in a restricted manner when the pressure in the regulating valve (1) is released, thus preventing the occurrence of detrimental vibrations.

  • Publication number: 20090163967
Abstract: An implantable heart stimulator (10), which has a right-atrial sensing unit (62), which is connected or is to be connected to a right-atrial electrode for recording electrical potentials of the myocardium of a right atrium, and is implemented to process electrical signals recorded via the right-atrial electrode, and to detect signal features characterizing a right-atrial stimulation and contraction in the electrical signal recorded via the right-atrial electrode. The heart stimulator (10) additionally has a left-ventricular sensing unit (66), which is connected or is to be connected to a left-ventricular electrode for recording electrical potentials of the myocardium of a left ventricle of a heart and is implemented to process electrical signals recorded via the left-ventricular electrode. The left-ventricular sensing unit (66) is implemented to detect signal features in the electrical signal recorded via the left-ventricular electrode which characterize a left-atrial contraction.

  • Patent number: 7424803
Abstract: A method and corresponding cylinder for pressure amplification in cylinders are disclosed. A second pressurizing piston with a small piston rod is arranged within the cylinder, in other words, within the cylinder housing, by means of which the piston surface cavity in the vicinity of the piston or the pressure medium present there can be further compressed. It is thus possible to increase the stroke displacement where required or to increase the pressure within the cylinder. Further advantages can also be achieved with the above.

  • Publication number: 20080141669
Abstract: In order to increase the pressure of the hydraulic medium in cylinders, especially those of the hydraulic longwall construction used in underground mining and tunnel construction, a control unit 21 is used which has suitably controllable, releasable check valves 29, 30 and 25, as well as a blockable check valve 31. These check valves and the associated directional valves create the possibility of filling both the cylinder space 20 proper and the piston rod cavity 26, which enables the pressure adjustment process with hydraulic medium in a specific manner, or accordingly their discharge, with no risk of reciprocal influence, seizing, or other damage.

  • Patent number: 7331361
Abstract: To protect hydraulic assemblies, in particular to protect hydraulic brace systems, pressure relief valves 1 are used, the closing part 10 of which is formed by a piston 15, which is connected to the connection 4, and the valve spring retainer 12, which comprises said piston, is arranged displaceably thereon and accordingly has a cylindrical design. Between the connection 4, which is equipped with a blind hole 5 and radial bores 6, 7, and the displaceable closing part 10 and/or the correspondingly shaped valve spring retainer 12 a damping chamber 20 is formed, which is directly connected to the blind hole 5 and hence to the system pressure.

  • Patent number: 7168314
Abstract: An ultrasonic filling level sensor (1), has an elongated measuring chamber (2), which is provided with an opening (3) at each of its two ends, wherein a liquid has the same filling level as outside the measuring chamber (2). The sensor includes an ultrasonic transceiver (6), which is associated with one end of the measuring chamber (2) and the emitted sound signals of which are reflected at the surface of the liquid and at a calibrating reflector (5) and received by the ultrasonic transceiver (6), in order to determine the filling level from the relationship between the transit times of the two signals. It is provided that the cross-section of the measuring chamber (2) and the nature of a wall of the measuring chamber are made to suit the properties of the liquid in such a way that, even in a tilted position of the measuring chamber (2), the surface of the liquid forms a meniscus (14) which forms a reflection portion directed toward the ultrasonic transceiver (6).

  • Publication number: 20020092525
Abstract: The Invention relates to method as well as a sensor device with a sensor element for detection of gases and vapors in air. The sensor element is preferably a heated metal oxide sensor with heating structure and gas sensitive layer, wherein the temperature of the gas sensitive layer can be maintained constant by way of a heating structure and an automatic control device. The sensor element is disposed in a heat in a preferably heat insulating casing for protecting against air flows, wherein the gas can penetrate into the casing through a gas permeable diffusion layer. The resistance of the heating structure, which is a measure for the temperature of the gas sensitive layer, is employed as a temperature reference for the automatic control according to the present Invention method. The temperature of the sensor element is purposefully influenced by adding further interference values to the automatic control value ‘sensor temperature’.

  • Publication number: 20020031407
Abstract: To temporarily secure pit and tunnel construction a prop device 1 is intended which consists of an inner pipe 2 and an out pipe 3 which can be moved while inserted in each other. The pulling apart motion is initiated when a liquid is filled into a filler opening 11 into the outer pipe 3 whose cavity 9, 2 is separated form the cavity 9 by a plate 10. This plate 10 features a weak point 18. Endangerment of the workers is therefore eliminated. After the extension of the inner pipe 2 from the outer pipe 3 the partial wedges 40, 41, 42 are pushed into the remaining narrow gap 45 so that the desired locking effect takes immediately place. The water or liquid can exit again from the cavity 9, 2 via the filler opening 11. A very light prop device 1 that absorbs sufficient straining forces has been created.

  • Publication number: 20010054442
Abstract: An especially for the subterranean mining industry intended non-return valve which is very safe and has a long life-cycle contains a valve piston 10 which is set in a case 18 against the pressure of the valve spring 12 which can be manipulated via the control piston 6. The case 18 contains an inner chamber 19 which is connected to the water release opening and the drilling of the casing via a connecting drilling 25. Thus, a hydraulic damping can be achieved which together with the shape of the valve piston 10 as a plastic piston guarantee for a long life-cycle.

  • Patent number: 6208239
Abstract: In a procedure for the provision of access authorization for an engine-driven vehicle, if there is an operator request for the provision of access authorization to an engine-driven vehicle, a bidirectional signal transmission using encoded transmission signals and an electronic key will be effected. From transmission units located on or in the vehicle, vehicle signals will be transmitted to the electronic key, and, from the electronic key, key signals will be returned as echo signals to the respective transmission units. The time difference between the vehicle signal and the key signals will be determined and evaluated. The position of the electronic key in relation to the vehicle will be determined by means of successive bidirectional signal transmissions between at least two transmission units and the electronic key as well as by evaluating the time differences; having determined the actual key position, a decision on access authorization to the vehicle will be made.
