  • Publication number: 20050225245
Abstract: A plasma display panel (PDP) having improved luminous efficiency may be constructed with an upper substrate, a lower substrate disposed parallel to the upper substrate, and a plurality of upper barrier ribs formed of a dielectric disposed between the upper substrate and the lower substrate. The upper barrier ribs, together with the upper substrate and the lower substrate, define discharge cells. A plurality of upper discharge electrodes are disposed to surround the discharge cell are embedded in the upper barrier ribs. A plurality of lower discharge electrodes that are spaced-apart from the upper discharge electrodes are embedded in the upper barrier ribs to surround the discharge cell. A plurality of lower barrier ribs are disposed between the upper barrier ribs and the lower substrate.

  • Publication number: 20050212423
Abstract: The present invention provides a plasma display panel (PDP) with a structure that can reduce an outer reflection of an external light source and increase the reflection of visible rays emitted from the phosphor, remarkably increase the aperture ratio of the front panel, and remarkably reduce occurrence of a permanent residual image.

  • Publication number: 20050140581
Abstract: A method of driving a plasma display panel in which a plurality of sub-fields for time division gray-scale display exist in each frame which is a display period, and each of the sub-fields includes a reset period, an address period and a discharge-sustaining period. In the discharge-sustaining period, a sustaining pulse of a second level voltage based on a first level voltage is supplied to each Y-electrode line and X-electrode line according to a Y-supplied electrical-potential period and an X-supplied electrical-potential period. Each Y-supplied and X-supplied electrical-potential period includes a rising time to rise from the first level voltage to the second level voltage, a sustaining time to sustain the second level voltage, and a falling time to fall from the second level voltage to the first level voltage.

  • Publication number: 20050116646
Abstract: A plasma display panel capable of being fast driven with low voltage by reducing a distance between an address electrode and a Y electrode. The plasma display panel includes a pair of substrates, discharge electrodes, and an address electrode. The substrates are arranged at a predetermined interval to face each other and form a plurality of discharge spaces between facing surfaces of the substrates. The discharge electrodes are arranged at predetermined intervals between the substrates. The address electrode is arranged a predetermined distance apart from the discharge electrodes in a direction where the substrates are arranged, and defines each of the discharge spaces in cooperation with the discharge electrodes.
