Abstract: Disclosed herein are a method and an apparatus for generating a 3D knee joint image. According to an exemplary embodiment of the present invention, a method for generating a 3D knee joint image includes: generating a statistical shape model by using previously generated sample knee bone images; generating a knee joint bone image by segmenting a bone region from an input knee image using the statistical shape model; generating a keen joint cartilage image by segmenting a cartilage region from the knee joint bone image; and generating a 3D knee joint image for the input knee image by composing the knee joint bone image with the knee joint cartilage image. According to the exemplary embodiments of the present invention, it is possible to more rapidly and accurately generate the 3D knee joint image.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a composition for promoting osteoblast or cartilage cell differentiation. More particularly, the present invention relates to a composition, which includes stauntonia hexaphylla leaf extract that may be safely used without toxicity and side effects by using a natural ingredient, for promoting bone (tissue) formation to be used for suppressing and treating bone and cartilage tissue damage. A pharmaceutical composition including the stauntonia hexaphylla leaf extract according to the present invention as an active ingredient may be used as a medicine for periodontitis or osteoporosis to treat or prevent periodontitis or osteoporosis.

Abstract: A cooling device for an electronic machine includes an airflow channel through which external air passes, an air inlet duct through which external air is introduced and which is disposed at an upper front surface of the airflow channel and extends perpendicularly to the airflow channel, a blower fan disposed in the air inlet duct to draw in external air through the air inlet duct, an air outlet duct disposed at a lower portion of the airflow channel to discharge air from the airflow channel, and a heat-radiating unit disposed to the rear of a circuit board mounted with electronic components on a front surface thereof to absorb heat from the circuit board. The heat-radiating unit is located, apart from the blower fan, in the airflow channel. Through the improved cooling airflow structure, cooling efficiency is increased, noise is reduced and continuous cooling operation is achieved.

Abstract: Disclosed is a sensor unit having a simple sensor structure to detect intensity of force applied to a parking cable upon braking a vehicle and an electronic parking brake with the same. The disclosed sensor unit includes a sensor housing, in which a Hall IC is installed to sense variation of magnetic force caused by displacement of a magnet, a magnet housing arranged to be movable within the sensor housing, the magnet being installed in the magnet housing, and an elastic member arranged between the magnet housing and the sensor housing, to elastically support the magnet housing. The magnet housing is coupled to a power conversion unit to operate for pulling of the parking cable or release of the pulling.

Abstract: Advertising targeting metrics for individuals can be derived from images associated with those individuals. Such advertising targeting metrics can include physical attributes, as well as preferences based on prior activity, or history. Public images associated with specific user identities can be processed and advertising targeting metrics can be derived therefrom to more accurately tailor the advertisements displayed to the individuals associated with those user identities. Additionally, non-public images can be likewise processed, either remotely or, for greater privacy, locally if so allowed by the user. Advertisers can then utilize the greater breath of advertising targeting metrics that can be derived from images to more accurately target advertisements to specific groups. In doing so, advertisers can submit their own images of exemplary targeted users, and the targeting metrics for those advertisers' advertisements can be automatically derived from the submitted images utilizing equivalent algorithms.

Abstract: Methods and systems for synchronizing communication of different versions of an advertisement to multiple, disparate devices associated with a user are provided. The advertisement is received on a first device associated with the user. Incident to receiving the advertisement, the first device establishes a communication path with a second device associated with the user. Utilizing the communication path, capabilities of the second device are determined. A version of the advertisement is rendered for the second device, where the version rendered is dependent upon the determined capabilities of the second device. And, utilizing the communication path, the rendered version of the advertisement is communicated to the second device.

Abstract: A melting apparatus for melt-decontaminating radioactive metal waste includes a melting furnace, a high frequency generator, a ladle, a bogie, a cooling unit and a dust collector. In detail, the melting furnace includes a crucible into which the metal waste is input, and an induction coil which is wound around the crucible to melt the metal waste. The induction coil has a hollow hole in which cooling fluid flows. The high frequency generator applies high-frequency current to the induction coil. The ladle supplies molten metal, from which slag has been removed in the crucible, into molds. The bogie is disposed adjacent to the ladle and is provided with the molds, each of which forms an ingot using the molten metal supplied thereinto. The cooling unit cools the cooling fluid and circulates it along the induction coil. The dust collector filters out dust and purifies gas.

Abstract: Disclosed are a composite nanofiber membrane for the adsorption of lithium, a method for preparing the same, and a lithium recovery apparatus and method using the same. The composite nanofiber membrane for the adsorption of lithium is immobilized with manganese oxide selectively adsorptive of lithium. The composite nanofiber membrane for lithium adsorption exhibits high selectivity for lithium ions and allows for the rapid and easy diffusion of lithium ions through interstitial spaces of the adsorbent. Particularly, the lithium recovery apparatus using the composite nanofiber membrane for lithium adsorption is able to effectively adsorb lithium ions dissolved in seawater in a selective manner within a short period of time, thus reducing the time taken for the adsorption process.

The selection of a content item by the content selection service may be based on an aggregate view profile for the media and a content item profile for a candidate content item. In some instances, a current view profile may also be used. The selected content item may be served to effect presentation of the selected content item with the media.

Abstract: Disclosed herein is a microorganism capable of producing ethane-1,2-diol from D-xylose, and a method for producing ethane-1,2-diol using the same. More specifically, the present invention relates to an engineered Escherichia coli (E. coli) prepared by knocking out a D-xylose isomerase gene and/or an aldehyde dehydrogenase gene within the genomic DNA of E. coli and transforming an expression vector including a D-xylose dehydrogenase gene into the E. coli, and an efficient method for producing ethane-1,2-diol from D-xylose using the engineered E. coli.
