  • Patent number: 4186014
Abstract: A suitable mordanting polymer for the image receiving layer in a color photographic material for the dye diffusion transfer process is a water-soluble cationic polymer containing glycidyl groups. Such polymers can be made by quaternizing a basic polyurethane, polyurea or polyurea polyurethane of the formula ##STR1## with a quaternizing agent capable of introducing glycidyl groups. The recurring unit contains a quaternizable tertiary amino group, and the recurring unit B is derived from a bis-chloroformate or a diisocyanate.

  • Patent number: 4148653
Abstract: A restraining layer capable of retarding the diffusion of hydroxyl groups is of particular use in a neutralization system for the dye diffusion transfer process. The restraining layer of the invention comprises a film-forming linear polymer consisting of alternating hydrophilic and hydrophobic segments joined to one another by carbonate, urethane and/or ester groups. The neutralization system provides retarded reduction of pH in the photographic material.

  • Patent number: 4143105
Abstract: The rot-resistant plant support which is aesthetically pleasing and can be inexpensively produced consists of a rod section and a plastics material which can be colored. The interior of the rod is finely porous while the surface zone has bark-like protuberances. The plant supports are manufactured by extrusion at processing temperatures in the tool adjusted to between 5 and 30.degree. C. above the temperatures conventionally employed for extruding foams with a smooth surface from the same thermoplasts.

  • Patent number: 4056397
Abstract: In a photographic monosheet material for the dye diffusion transfer process a temporary bond is adjusted between a first layer and a second layer by placing between said layers another layer of a graft polymer which is obtained by grafting a monomer containing double bonds capable of radical polymerization onto a hydrophilic linear basis polymer. The two layers are firmly bonded to each other but are easily separated, when the processing liquid is forced between them.
