  • Publication number: 20240022476
Abstract: A broadband network gateway (BNG) controller is described that includes a network subscriber database (NSDB) and one or more core applications. The NSDB is configured to store vBNG instance information for one or more subscriber devices. The vBNG instance information specifies vBNG instances operable by one or more edge routers. The vBNG instances are configured to receive requests to access service provider services from the one or more subscriber devices and to selectively authenticate the one or more subscriber devices for network services based on authentication information included in the requests to access services provider services. The one or more core applications include a network instance and configuration manager (NICM). The NICM is configured to modify the vBNG instance information at the NSDB to include an additional vBNG instance and to output, to an edge router, an instruction to generate the additional vBNG instance at the edge router.

  • Publication number: 20240016962
Abstract: A system for eradicating pathogens is disclosed. A lamp is provided that emits a far-ultraviolet C (far-UVC) light generates an irradiation zone. A biometric sensor determines whether an individual is present in the irradiation zone. The biometric sensor signals a processor to determine whether the individual has been exposed to a threshold limit of far-UVC light. The processor determines whether the time an individual has been in the irradiation zone exceeds a threshold limit. If the individual has been in the irradiation zone a period of time exceeds the threshold, the lamp is deactivated. A pathogen detection sensor provides user feedback of the existence pathogens and signals the processor to terminate irradiation or provide user feedback to terminate irradiation. The system and method are included in a passenger compartment of a vehicle to eradicate pathogens on surfaces and aerosol. Threshold limits allow eradication while the vehicle is occupied.

  • Publication number: 20240008559
Abstract: This application is related to a clamp that can provide, for an associated fastener (e.g., hook and receiver or other male/female style fastener), a robust connection to a textile (e.g., a strap or other textile portion that is releasably attachable to another textile portion). For example, the fastener can include a first connector (e.g., hook) for releasably mating with a corresponding second connector (e.g., receiver). In addition, the first connector can include a clamp for providing a fixed connection to a first textile, and the second connector can include a clamp for providing a fixed connection to another textile (e.g., the first and second textiles to be releasably connected to each other via the fastener). In at least some examples, the clamp can include a first clamping plate and a second clamping plate. In addition, a portion of the textile can be secured in a clamping groove between the first clamping plate and the second clamping plate.

  • Publication number: 20240012257
Abstract: A head-mounted device may be provided with displays. The displays and lenses through which images on the displays are viewed may be mounted in optical modules. Lens positioners may be used to move the optical modules toward and away from eye boxes to adjust eye relief distance. Control circuitry may gather sensor data such as motion sensor data from a motion sensor indicating whether the head-mounted device is in free fall and/or image sensor data from a front-facing camera indicating whether the head-mounted device is headed toward a collision with an external surface. The control circuitry may use the lens positioners to automatically increase the eye relief distance in response to sensor data if a collision is predicted. The lens positioners may include solenoids or other actuators. The positions of the lenses may be adjusted without necessarily adjusting a distance between the lens and the display.

  • Patent number: 11866820
Abstract: A method for processing a CMC airfoil includes nesting an airfoil fiber preform in a cavity of a fixture that has first and second tool segments, closing the fixture by rotating a first tool segment about a hinge, the closing causing the tool segments to clamp on a tail portion of the fiber preform and thereby conform the tail portion to the fixture. While in the fixture, the fiber preform is then partially densified with an interface coating material to form a partially densified fiber preform. While still in the fixture, one or more cooling holes are drilled into the trailing edge of the partially densified fiber preform. After the drilling, the partially densified fiber preform is removed from the fixture and further densified with a ceramic matrix material to form a fully densified CMC airfoil.
