    Abstract: A method for recognizing a three-dimensional (3D) model is described. The method includes obtaining a sketch of the object and generating a skeleton view of the sketch. A first shape-description vector is determined by processing the sketch through a first convolutional neural network (CNN), and a second shape-description vector is determined by processing the skeleton view through a second CNN. A feature-description vector is identified from a descriptor database based on a concatenated vector of the first shape-description vector and the second shape-description vector. The descriptor database stores feature-description vectors obtained by training the first CNN and the second CNN over a plurality of 3D models. A 3D model of the object corresponding to the feature-description vector is identified from the plurality of 3D models.

    Abstract: A fastener tool includes a motor, a drive mechanism connected to the motor and adapted to drive a piston, and a cylinder filled with high-pressure gas. The piston is accommodated in the cylinder and suitable for a reciprocating motion within the cylinder. The drive mechanism includes a blade fixed to the piston and a gear coupled to the motor. The gear contains a plurality of teeth adapted to engage with a plurality of lugs on the blade such that a rotation of the gear is transformed to a linear movement of the blade. The drive mechanism further includes a disengagement module which, within a period of a rotation cycle of the gear, is configured to prevent one of the plurality of teeth from unintentionally engaging with a misaligned one.

    Abstract: A method for training a deep learning network includes defining a loss function corresponding to the network. Training samples are received and current parameter values are set to initial parameter values. Then, a computing platform is used to perform an optimization method which iteratively minimizes the loss function. Each iteration comprises the following steps. An eigCG solver is applied to determine a descent direction by minimizing a local approximated quadratic model of the loss function with respect to current parameter values and the training dataset. An approximate leftmost eigenvector and eigenvalue is determined while solving the Newton system. The approximate leftmost eigenvector is used as negative curvature direction to prevent the optimization method from converging to saddle points. Curvilinear and adaptive line-searches are used to guide the optimization method to a local minimum. At the end of the iteration, the current parameter values are updated based on the descent direction.

    Abstract: One embodiment of the present invention sets forth a technique for detecting a video transition. The technique involves calculating a first average pixel intensity for each pixel grouping included in a first plurality of pixel groupings, calculating a second average pixel intensity for each pixel grouping included in a second plurality of pixel groupings, and calculating a third average pixel intensity for each pixel grouping included in a third plurality of pixel groupings. The technique further involves comparing a first average pixel intensity to a corresponding second average pixel intensity to identify a first trend, comparing a second average pixel intensity to a corresponding third average pixel intensity to identify a second trend, and comparing the first trend to the second trend to determine whether a match exits. The nano-Au accounts for 0.5-1.5 wt. % of the attapulgite. An average diameter of the attapulgite is 18-22 nm, and a length thereof is 100-1000 nm. A particle diameter of the nano-Au is 1-7 nm. The composite catalyst has a low activation temperature and high performance-to-price ratio, and can be used for oxidation of organic pollutants in waste gas under low temperatures and also has excellent catalytic effects on organic pollutants in waste fluid. A preparation method of the composite catalyst is also provided.
