  • Patent number: 8947745
Abstract: A imaging scanner identifies first and second locations in a first and second captured image of a document, analyzes each character in the identified locations, and produces a first and second string, each including a character and a confidence value. The device determines that a first measurement of the confidence values in each of the first and second string is beyond a range of a first threshold. The device compares the confidence value for each character in the first string with a corresponding confidence value in the second string, selects a character from one of the first or second string with a higher confidence value; and produces a combined string including the selected characters and the confidence value associated with each selected character.

  • Patent number: 8906278
Abstract: Processes for producing carbon fiber, the filament thereof and pre-oxidized fiber are provided. In one embodiment, the gel spinning of polyacrylonitrile filament is achieved by using small-molecule gelling agent, and the carbon fiber obtained thereby is increased by 15% to 40% in tensile strength and by 20% to 35% in toughness. In another embodiment, the melt spinning process of polyacrylonitrile is conducted by using imidazole type ion liquid as plasticizer, the process reduces environment pollution, is suitable for industrial production and the fiber produced thereby is improved in its strength. In yet another embodiment, polyacrylonitrile pre-oxidized fiber is produced by melt spinning, so low cost and controllable pre-oxidization of polyacrylonitrile can be achieved. In a further embodiment, high strength carbon fiber is manufactured by using polymer thickening agent.

  • Publication number: 20080175228
Abstract: In one embodiment, a system includes a database that stores administrative information of an Internet protocol private branch exchange (IP-PBX). The administrative information correlates to a geographic configuration of endpoint devices connected via low bandwidth network links. A node is operable to access the database in order to retrieve and analyze the administrative information. Following the analysis, the node generates a test call pattern that is limited to test calls between the endpoint devices connected across the low bandwidth network links. The node is further operable to place the test calls of the test call pattern and acquire voice quality information therefrom. It is emphasized that this abstract is provided to comply with the rules requiring an abstract that will allow a searcher or other reader to quickly ascertain the subject matter of the technical disclosure.
