  • Patent number: 7511465
Abstract: A DC-DC digital pulse width modulated power supply is disclosed for generating a DC regulated output voltage. A digital control node has a digital control voltage disposed thereon for controlling the operation of the supply, wherein the digital control voltage has a substantially zero voltage when the output voltage of the supply is at a desired regulation, the digital control voltage having a resolution defined by a least significant bit (LSB). An input node receives a DC analog reference voltage defining the output voltage of the supply. A difference device determines the difference between the analog reference voltage and the output voltage to generate said digital control voltage. An LSB variation device varies the size of the LSB without varying the value of the digital control voltage for a substantially zero difference between the analog reference voltage and the output voltage.

  • Patent number: 7510745
Abstract: Polypyrrole (PPy) is one of the most commonly studied conducting polymers due to its good stability, high conductivity, ease of preparation and non-toxicity. The stability of the conductivity of polypyrrole films depends on the choice of dopant anion, the method of preparation, and the conditions of aging. Most of the existing methods only improve stability by sacrificing conductivity, as well as sensitivity. This invention provides a method for coating conducting polymer onto a substrate by first applying an anionic dopant and an oxidizing agent onto the substrate. The monomer is then allowed to form the conducting polymer at about ?10 to ?80° C. for a sufficient period of time. After storage for a long period of time (nearly a year), the conductive polymer coating still retains almost the same strain sensitivity and at least up to 85% of its initial conductivity.

  • Publication number: 20090078927
Abstract: A composite hard mask is disclosed that enables sub-100 nm sized MTJ cells to be formed for advanced devices such as spin torque MRAMs. The hard mask has a lower non-magnetic metallic layer such as Ru to magnetically isolate an overlying middle metallic spacer such as MnPt from an underlying free layer. The middle metallic spacer provides a height margin during subsequent processing to avoid shorting between a bit line and the MTJ cell in the final device. An upper conductive layer may be made of Ta and is thin enough to allow a MTJ pattern in a thin overlying photoresist layer to be transferred through the Ta during a fluorocarbon etch without consuming all of the photoresist. The MTJ pattern is transferred through the remaining hard mask layers and underlying MTJ stack of layers with a second etch step using a C, H, and O etch gas composition.
