Abstract: A card edge connector for mating with an electronic card includes an elongated housing, a number of contacts and a retainer disposed in the housing. The housing has a center slot extending along a lengthwise direction of the housing and a first tower section at one end thereof. The retainer is rotatably retained in the first tower section and does not extend beyond the first tower along the lengthwise direction, a thickness direction of the housing and a direction opposite to an insertion direction of the electronic card. The retainer has a locker to lock the electronic card and at least a spring sandwiched between the locker and an outer wall of the first tower section to make the locker automatically move in the lengthwise direction in an insertion process of the electronic card.

Abstract: A card edge connector includes an elongated housing, a plurality of contacts retained to the housing, and a retainer located at one end of the housing along an elongated direction of the housing. The housing has a pair of side walls and a central slot between the side walls. The retainer has a resilient retention arm and a rigid stop arm diverging from the retention arm along a transverse direction perpendicular to the elongated direction. The retention arm has a locking section extending along the elongated direction to lock a daughter board and an operating section obliquely extending from the locking section along a third direction different from both elongated direction and transverse direction. The stop arm has an abutting section behind the operating section along a fourth direction perpendicular to the operating section to limit a deflection of the operating section.

Abstract: A card edge connector includes an elongated housing and a number of contacts retained in the housing. Each contact has a retaining portion retained in the housing, a contact portion forwardly extending from a front end of the retaining portion and a connecting portion backwardly extending from a rear end of the retaining portion. The contacts are arranged in two rows and formed with a first receiving space between two rows of contact portions to receive a module and a second receiving space between two rows of connecting portions to receive a mother board. The first receiving space defines a first centre line along an insertion direction of the module. The second receiving space defines a second centre line which is parallel to the first centre line and offset to the first centre line along an up to down direction perpendicular to the insertion direction.
