    Abstract: A plug-in management apparatus for managing plug-ins installed in application programs may comprise a local plug-in management module disposed in a client device. The local plug-in management module may be configured to detect a plug-in installed in an application program; determine an activation status of the plug-in; and when the plug-in is active, turn off the plug-in when the plug-in has been in an idle condition for a time longer than a predetermined idle time. The local plug-in management module may also be configured to delete a plug-in when an activation frequency of the plug-in is lower than a predetermined frequency; clean a plurality of caches used by the plug-in when a quantity of the plurality of caches is greater than a pre-determined cache quantity or when the plug-in has been activated for a time longer than a predetermined activation time.

    Abstract: The present invention discloses a method and a system for performing scanning and killing on browser bookmarks, the method comprising: receiving, by a browser background server, a synchronization request that includes a user account and bookmark web addresses from a browser client; storing, by the browser background server, the bookmark web addresses correspondingly to the user account; and receiving a cloud scanning and killing instruction that includes the user account from the browser client, performing risk scanning and killing on the bookmark web addresses which the user account corresponds to, determining a risky web address, and feeding back a scanning and killing result that includes the risky web address to the browser client, by the browser background server. The solutions of the present invention can improve security of the browser bookmarks, and save storage spaces of a terminal device where the browser client resides.

    Abstract: Methods, servers, and clients for pushing and/or displaying a splash screen are provided herein. In an exemplary embodiment, a server can receive identification information sent from a client. The identification information can include user identification, a globally unique identifier (GUID) of the client, or a combination thereof. The server can obtain feature information correlated with the identification information from a preset database. The server can configure a splash screen according to the feature information and send the splash screen to the client. The splash screen can be displayed next time when the client is opened up.

The available browsers include at least a third-party browser.
