  • Publication number: 20120265810
Abstract: A method and system for establishing a network-based collaboration is described. The method involves the provision of a server-terminal as a data source for the collaboration session, a plurality of client-terminals to allow a user access for participating in the collaboration session and one or more application gateways, the application gateways being configured to relay data between network components during the collaboration session. Both the server-terminal and the client-terminals are allocated an application gateway to which it transmits/and receives data during the collaboration session, the allocation of the application gateways being determined by the location of the server-terminal and client terminals within the network. Also described is a method of data path optimisation for the application gateways employed within the network-based collaboration. A particular application of the present invention is found within the field of Wide Area Network (WAN)-based collaborations.

  • Publication number: 20120078125
Abstract: Systems, methods, and products for determining indicated blood pressure values and/or characterizing a condition of a patient. The systems, methods, and products are capable of determining indicated blood pressure values in a lower extremity of a patient using an oscillometric technique. An oscillometric signal obtained from the lower extremity of the patient is analyzed, and the patient may be classified into one of a plurality of diagnostic classes. Each diagnostic class may have an associated ratio value. Based on the diagnostic class into which the patient is classified, a selected lower extremity characteristic ratio may be selected. A lower extremity indicated blood pressure value may be obtained by oscillometric processing using the selected ratio. This lower extremity indicated blood pressure value may be used with an upper extremity indicated blood pressure value to perform an extremity blood pressure ratio (EBPR) examination.

  • Publication number: 20120071695
Abstract: This invention, which involves synthetic method of 5, 5- dimethyl-2, 4-adipaldehyde-0, 0-Boron difluoride, belongs to the field of organic synthesis. Synthetic method of 5, 5-dimethyl-2, 4-adipaldehyde-0, 0-Boron difluoride is to react pinacolone and boron trifluoride diethyl ether at low temperature, and then add aqueous alkaline solution in after treatment to extract product from ether, after that, separate fluid, condense organic phase and final product is obtained. Yield of this method is 2 to 3 times higher than that in literature, and apart from that, mild reaction condition, simple procedures, easy operation, and low cost make it easy for industrial production. The product can be used directly in next step reaction without any special purification.

  • Publication number: 20100136226
Abstract: Methods of forming carbon nanotubes include forming a catalytic metal layer on a sidewall of an electrically conductive region, such as a metal or metal nitride pattern. A plurality of carbon nanotubes are grown from the catalytic metal layer. These carbon nanotubes can be grown from a sidewall of the catalytic metal layer. The plurality of carbon nanotubes are then exposed to an organic solvent. This step of exposing the carbon nanotubes to the organic solvent may be preceded by a step of applying centrifugal forces to the plurality of carbon nanotubes. Alternatively, the exposing step may include applying a centrifugal force to the plurality of carbon nanotubes while simultaneously exposing the plurality of carbon nanotubes to an organic solvent.

  • Publication number: 20080242827
Abstract: The invention relates to a method of preparing omni-meta aromatic polysulfonamide fiber which comprises three steps of preparing spinning dope, wet spinning and post treating. The said step of preparing spinning dope comprises the following steps: (1) dissolving 3,3?-diaminodiphenyl sulphone in a polar organic solvent and cooling it to ?20˜20° C.; (2) adding m-phthaloyl chloride of the same mole of the 3,3?-diaminodiphenyl sulphone to carry out a polymerization reaction; (3) then adding an inorganic base of the same mole of 3,3?-diaminodiphenyl sulphone to neutralize the hydrogen chloride produced during the polymerization reaction. The spinning dope thus prepared has a polymer solid content of 10%-20%. The fiber prepared according to the method in the present invention has a greatly improved crimpability, and evidently increased elongation at break comparing with the conventional aromatic polysulfonamide fiber, so that the spinnability of resultant yarn is improved.

  • Patent number: 7352262
Abstract: A cancellation circuit to remove the anti-resonance signal from a resonator. Micro-mechanical and surface and bulk acoustic wave resonators include an anti-resonance in an output signal. This has an undesirable effect on certain types of systems in their function and performance. An anti-resonance cancellation circuit removes the anti-resonance from the output of the resonators by providing a signal which is subtracted from the output of the resonator. The cancellation circuit includes a capacitor which is matched to the static capacitance of the resonator. The loads of the resonator and cancellation network are also matched.
