The disclosure also provides methods of using the new lettuces and parts thereof for protection against viral/bacterial infection (i.e., by inhibiting activities of COVID-19 virus/enzymes) diabetes, cardiovascular diseases, memory and eyesight loss, inflammation, and cancer.
