  • Publication number: 20220345392
Abstract: A network test device tests key performance indicators for a link aggregation group (LAG). Ports for the LAG are determined. Test streams including test frames are generated and transmitted from the ports to test the LAG. The test frames include a unique stream identifier for a corresponding test stream. The test frames may be looped back. Key performance indicators for the LAG are determined based on the received test frames and the unique stream identifier in each test frame.

  • Patent number: 10873391
Abstract: A test device for Optical Transport Network (OTN) testing using MFAS-aligned pseudorandom binary sequence (PRBS) patterns is disclosed. The test device may comprise a signal generator to generate a test signal that comprises an MFAS-aligned PRBS pattern. The test device may also comprise a transmitter to transmit the test signal into an OTN and a receiver to receive the test signal from the OTN. The test device may comprise a processor to determine whether the received test signal matches the transmitted test signal based on the MFAS-aligned PRBS pattern. The test device employing a technique that uses an MFAS-aligned PRBS pattern may help ensure quality of service in OTN, especially for transmission of secured data.

  • Patent number: 7804615
Abstract: A method for limiting bit rate in IP facsimile, in this method the highest bit rate that the called gateway allows is determined, after the call connection is set up, the called fax machine transmits the digital identification containing the highest facsimile bit rate that the called fax machine provides, the called gateway compares the highest facsimile bit rate that the called fax machine provides with the determined highest bit rate that the called gateway allows, then selects the lower and inserts in the frame and transmits to the calling fax machine, the calling fax machine compares the bit rate with the highest bit rate that the calling fax machine itself provides, the lowest will be the highest bit rate at which message is transmitted, then the message is transmitted, confirmed, then the call connection is released. In this method, when the network becomes bad, the highest facsimile bit rate is limited through gateway to improve quality of pictures.

  • Publication number: 20060285171
Abstract: The invention discloses a method of implementing a fax in a next generation network, comprising steps of: either of two media gateways notifying a media gateway controller upon detection of a Fax Start signal when they communicate with each other; the media gateway controller sending in parallel a Modify command to the media gateways at the two ends of the communication based upon a negotiated fax codec mode, so as to modify the codec mode; the media gateways at the two ends modifying the codec mode based upon the Modify command, returning a Reply message to the media gateway controller, and starting a fax. The invention can reduce time for a fax switching and improve success ratio of a fax negotiation.
