Abstract: A test device of universal nail/screw holding power is provided. The device is capable of penetrating a nail/screw into a test piece at any angle and positioning the test piece on which a nail/screw is penetrated at any angle to test the nail/screw holding power. The device includes a base, two opposite supporting plates, two coaxial disks, an upper bearing plate, a lower bearing plate, a side bearing plate, a through groove, a trapezoid slot, and a plurality of trapezoid bolts on the same circumference. When the disk is turned, at least one trapezoid bolt is stretch into the trapezoid slot; when the at least one trapezoid bolt engages with the trapezoid slot and then is tightened up, the at least one trapezoid bolt and the trapezoid slot cooperatively limit the turn of the disk.

Abstract: Approaches for operating a network personal video recorder operated by a content provider. The network personal video recorder may be located at a head-end of a digital content provider. A network personal video recorder receives, from a user, authentication credentials that provide the network personal video recorder access, via the Internet, to a storage medium belonging to or associated with the user. After the user instructs the network personal video recorder to record a video program, the network personal video recorder stores a copy of the video program on the user's storage medium using the user-provided authentication credentials. Thereafter, when the user wishes to view the video program, the user can instruct the network personal video recorder to read the copy of the video program from the storage medium and play the video program on a device of the user.

Abstract: A low cost support useful in chemical reactions and automotive arts is formed by rehydrating a flash calcined gibbsite in an aqueous acidic solution. The rehydrated support can be subsequently stabilized by doping with a stabilizing metal such as lanthanum. The alumina support has excellent thermal stability, high sodium tolerance, high activity with low precious metal loading, and high pore volume and surface area.

Abstract: An alumina-based perovskite is formed by mixing a lanthanide source with a transitional alumina to form a dual-phase composition comprising in situ formed LnAlO3 dispersed in alumina. The lanthanide content of the composition ranges from 6-35 wt. % to yield a high surface area composition which is useful as a catalyst or catalyst support such as for precious metals.
