  • Patent number: 9522586
Abstract: A vehicle selectively operates in a plurality of operational modes. The operational modes carry with them different commands for operating a controlled suspension system such as a continuously controlled damping suspension system, a controlled steering system such as an electronic power-assist steering system, and a powertrain of the vehicle. For example, in one operational mode, the powertrain might be more sensitive to output torque from a motor or engine quickly with little hesitation. The vehicle includes a sensing system, such as a plurality of suspension height sensors and a corresponding controller programmed to receive suspension height signals indicating the characteristic of the road, to categorize the signals, and to compute categorized vehicle characteristics such as vehicle pitch, heave, roll, yaw, etc. The controller can discretize the categorized signals into a discrete number of index values, and then command the vehicle to change operational mode based on the discrete index value.

  • Patent number: 9518014
Abstract: A process for the production of ezetimibe and intermediates used in said process are disclosed. A kind of Morita-Baylis-Hillman adduct can be altered to chiral carboxylic acid derivatives of ?-arylamino ?-methylene with high activity and selectivity by means of ally lamination reaction, and the above carboxylic acid derivatives of ?-arylamino ?-methylene can be altered to the chiral intermediates of ezetimibe by means of simple conversion and further synthesized into the chiral drug ezetimibe. The synthesis route introduces chirality through the use of a chiral catalysis method, thereby avoiding the use of the chiral auxiliary oxazolidinone; and the route is economical and eco-friendly.

Abstract: A computer-implemented technique includes receiving, at a server, a first request from a computing device to translate a web page from a source language to a target language. The technique includes generating, at the server, an image for each of a plurality of messages from the web page to obtain a plurality of images in response to the first request. A specific image (i) represents at least a specific portion of the web page and (ii) includes at least a specific message of the plurality of messages. The technique includes grouping, at the server, the plurality of messages based on contexts of their images to obtain one or more groups of messages. A translation service provider then translates the one or more groups of messages to obtain a plurality of translated messages. The technique also includes transmitting, from the server, the plurality of translated messages to the computing device.
