    Abstract: A method for designing one or more multichannel, multiband radio frequency (“RF”) pulses for use with a magnetic resonance imaging (“MRI”) system is provided. The method includes determining a number of RF amplitude modulations and a number of RF phase modulations for each channel in a multichannel RF coil by minimizing an objective function that includes a complex-valued vector. The objective function also contains a system matrix that accounts for both a spatial sensitivity profile of each channel in the multichannel RF coil and a magnetic field map for each excitation band in the multiband RF pulse.

    Abstract: A luminaire includes a housing having at least one sidewall with an observable outer surface and a light feed edge. The housing sidewall is characterized in that light introduced through a light feed edge of the sidewall will propagate by internal reflections through the sidewall and will be extracted from the outer surface of the sidewall. A fractional amount of light emitted by the luminaire's light source is directed to the sidewall's light feed edge. When extracted, this fractional amount of source light produces an observable and aesthetically pleasing glow of light on the sidewall of the housing.

The method including: partitioning a section of speech signals to be detected into a plurality of speech frames, performing in each of the plurality of speech frames: Fast Fourier Transform (FFT) processing in frequency-domain, afterwards computing across an entire frequency range, an energy value corresponding to each of the frequency point; utilizing the computed energy value to compute a mean energy value of the speech frame; computing a low frequency range mean energy value; performing clustering analysis on the low frequency range mean energy value over the plurality of speech frames; determining a range of strong energy value based on the clustering analysis result; detecting whether the mean energy value falls within the range of strong energy value; if so: indicating that the section of speech signals to be detected has a noise burst.

The upper insert and the lower insert match with each other to define an annular mold cavity in between.
