  • Publication number: 20050139674
Abstract: A technique for retrieving and processing data retrieved from a non-contact recording medium without physically contacting the non-contact recording medium. The non-contact medium contains coded data including a data declaration, a graphical user interface, a determining function, and specification of a communication protocol. A portable terminal reads the data from the non-contact medium, decodes the data into a structured language code file including a data declaration function, a determining function, and a communication protocol specifying function, and stores the code file. A user may select a stored code file, which executes on the portable terminal and performs display control. The portable terminal then communicates data from the selected code file to an external device by using a specified communication protocol from the selected code file.

  • Publication number: 20050033656
Abstract: A collaboration system includes a plurality of client devices individually connected to a network, and a server apparatus for receiving requests from the client devices, responding to the client devices, and providing a common collaboration environment among the client devices. The server includes means for providing a group session formed by integrating communication sessions of the plurality of client devices, and means for synchronizing the client devices in the collaboration environment. Each of the client devices includes means for synchronizing displays on the plurality of client devices.

  • Publication number: 20040261223
Abstract: A hinge assembly (1) includes a housing (10) encasing a rotating mechanism (30) and an elastic plate (40) therein, and an opened end (12) of the housing is covered by an end cover (50). The rotating mechanism has a cam portion (32), and a connector (31) and a shaft (33) located at opposite ends of the cam portion. The connector rotatably extends through a hole (51) of the end cover. The rotating mechanism is rotatably engaged in the housing with the shaft being rotatably received in a bushing (13) inside the housing. The cam portion has an arcuate cam surface (322) defining at least one flat surface (324) thereon. The elastic plate abuts against between an inside wall of the housing and the arcuate surface. During cover rotation of a folding phone, the arcuate surface is rotatably engaged with the elastic plate until the elastic plate is positioned on the flat surface of the cam portion.

  • Publication number: 20040224220
Abstract: A battery cover assembly includes a battery cover (3) defining a pair of guide rails (326) therein, a connecting member (2), a housing (1) defining a receiving slot (164) and at least a battery-receiving compartment (194), a plurality of springs (5), and an antenna rod (4). The connecting member is slidingly received in the guide rails along a lateral direction, and the antenna rod inserts into the receiving slot through the connecting member and the springs such that the battery cover can rotate about the antenna rod. When the battery cover is rotated downwardly to the housing, a force is required to press the battery cover down upon the housing, and then inwardly along a direction toward the antenna rod until locking projections (302) on the cover catch in troughs (182) defined in the housing.

  • Publication number: 20040114753
Abstract: A cover assembly (1) of a mobile phone includes a front cover (2) and a back cover (3). The front cover defines a front microphone cavity (4) at an end thereof with at least one opening formed in a wall of said front microphone cavity. The back cover defines a back microphone cavity (5) at an end thereof, corresponding in position to that of the front microphone cavity in the front cover. At least one opening is formed in a wall of said back microphone cavity. Said front and back covers are assembled together to form the cover assembly, resulting in a combination of said front and back cavities to create a combined microphone cavity (90) for receiving a microphone (70) therein, the combined cavity having at least one aperture (46) at its lower end, thereby improving voice quality and structural integrity of the mobile phone.

  • Publication number: 20030051036
Abstract: To provide a technique for connection from a conventional personal computer having no terminal ID to a service site for mobile phone terminals. A simulation server 4 is set as the proxy server for a personal computer 5 or 9. In the proxy server (simulation server 4), terminal ID's suitable for the format are generated, and a cookie is generated for each personal computer or session. The terminal ID's and cookies are related and stored as a hash table 10. In the proxy server 4, a terminal ID is appended to a request from the personal computer 5 or 9, and the request is transferred to an i-mode server 3 along with the terminal ID.
