The RACH report includes an identifier of a cell accessed by the terminal device and the network slice identifier.

In those embodiments, a terminal device obtains a first parameter indicating a maximum service data volume to be provided by an access network device for a first service in a first time length; and determines, based on the maximum service data volume, a resource of a media access control protocol data unit MAC PDU, the resource being occupied by buffered data of the first service. In those embodiments, the terminal device determines, based on the maximum service data volume of the first service, the resource of the MAC PDU. Compared with a conventional method, the maximum service data volume of the first service is considered. This helps improve reasonableness of allocating the resource of the MAC PDU to the data of the first service.

When a cell served by a DU of an access network device and a neighboring cell use different timing, the DU may obtain timing configurations of a first cell and a second cell, or a RACH configuration that is of a second cell and that is based on timing of a first cell. When the method is applied to a RACH optimization scenario, the DU may determine, at same timing, RACH configurations of the two cells based on the foregoing obtained information, to accurately identify whether a RACH configuration conflict occurs between the cell and the neighboring cell, optimize the RACH configuration of the cell when the conflict occurs, and ensure a success rate and an access latency of random access performed by a terminal device.

    Abstract: This application provides a method and an apparatus for configuring minimization of drive-tests MDT. The method for configuring MDT includes: A terminal device receives first MDT measurement configuration information and first indication information from a first network device. The terminal device learns, based on the first indication information, whether a type of first MDT configured by the first network device for the terminal device is signaling based MDT or management based MDT. Further, after establishing a connection to a second network device, the terminal device sends second indication information to the second network device, and reports the type of the first MDT that has been configured for the terminal device. The management based MDT overwrites signaling based MDT previously configured by the first network device for the terminal device can be avoided, thereby increasing a possibility that the management based MDT does not overwrite the configured signaling based MDT.

The MCG is managed by a master node, and the SCG is managed by a secondary node.
