    Abstract: Various embodiments provide a resource allocation method and an apparatus. In those embodiments, a terminal device obtains a first parameter indicating a maximum service data volume to be provided by an access network device for a first service in a first time length; and determines, based on the maximum service data volume, a resource of a media access control protocol data unit MAC PDU, the resource being occupied by buffered data of the first service. In those embodiments, the terminal device determines, based on the maximum service data volume of the first service, the resource of the MAC PDU. Compared with a conventional method, the maximum service data volume of the first service is considered. This helps improve reasonableness of allocating the resource of the MAC PDU to the data of the first service.

The method may include: broadcasting, by a base station, a paging message, where the paging message carries UE identifiers of a plurality of to-be-paged user equipment UE and small data sent to at least one of the to-be-paged UEs, and the small data is data whose data volume is less than a preset data volume threshold. In the present disclosure, small data may be sent to to-be-paged UE while the base station pages the UE, to reduce signaling and time overheads for sending the small data and improving communication efficiency.

The terminal receives the transmission policy sent by the base station, and sends uplink data to the base station based on the transmission policy. With a solution in this application, the base station can determine an appropriate transmission policy based on a network status, and send the transmission policy to the terminal, and the terminal can use, based on the transmission policy, an appropriate transmission mode to send uplink data to the base station, so that transmission efficiency is improved.

    Abstract: The present disclosure provides an uplink data packet transmission method. The method includes: determining, by a terminal device, a CP length of a first uplink data frame; if the terminal device is in a state of out of uplink synchronization with a base station and in an RRC connected state, or is in an RRC idle state, generating the first uplink data frame for an uplink data packet according to the CP length and sending the first uplink data frame to the base station. The CP length is greater than a CP length of an uplink data frame sent by a terminal device that is in a state of uplink synchronization and in an RRC connected state. Therefore, signaling procedures such as random access and uplink synchronization can be omitted, so that the terminal device can directly send the uplink data packet by performing signaling exchange once.

    Abstract: This application relates to the field of mobile communications, and in particular, to a discontinuous reception (DRX) technology in a wireless communications system. In a wireless communication method provided in this application, a terminal device (UE) receives, in a DRX cycle, a downlink control signal sent by a radio access network device; parses the downlink control signal; and if the downlink control signal fails to be parsed, measures wireless communication quality of a first beam pair, and determines, based on a measurement result, whether to continuously measure another beam pair, to determine a target beam. According to the solutions provided in this application, beam training and reporting of requested radio resources can be effectively reduced, and power consumption of the UE is reduced.

In the solutions, terminals in a cell are grouped, and terminals in a same group contend for a resource allocated to the group. This mitigates resource collision when an uplink non-scheduled transmission solution is used.
