  • Publication number: 20170039436
Abstract: Point cloud data is received and a ground plane is segmented. A two-dimensional image of the segmented ground plane is generated based on intensity values of the segmented ground plane. Lane marking candidates are determined based on intensity within the generated two-dimensional image. Image data is received and the generated two-dimensional image is registered with the received image data. Lane marking candidates of the received image data are determined based on the lane marking candidates of the registered two-dimensional image. Image patches are selected from the two-dimensional image and from the received image data based on the determined lane markings. Feature maps including selected image patches from the registered two-dimensional image and received data are generated. The set of feature maps are sub-sampled, and a feature vector is generated based on the set of feature maps. Lane markings are determined from the generated feature vector.

  • Patent number: 9313460
Abstract: Estimating a blur kernel distribution for visual iris recognition includes determining a first mathematical relationship between an in-focus position of a camera lens and a distance between the lens and an iris whose image is to be captured by the lens. A second mathematical relationship between the in-focus position of the lens and a standard deviation defining a Gaussian blur kernel distribution is estimated. The first mathematical relationship is used to ascertain a desired focus position of the lens based upon the actual position of the living being's eye at the point in time. The second mathematical relationship is used to calculate a standard deviation defining a Gaussian blur kernel distribution. The produced image is digitally unblurred by using the blur kernel distribution defined by the calculated standard deviation.

  • Publication number: 20150332110
Abstract: Improved mechanisms for three-dimensional image reconstruction are disclosed. A user is presented with a scene image and allowed to select elements of the image, such as planes, within which features are to be detected. The features are detected and tracked and objects (such as planes) are constructed. The user is allowed to revise the constructed objects and may be allowed to repeat image element selection, with feature detection and tracking and object construction being repeated. When element selection and object construction and user revision are completed, a three-dimensional reconstruction of the scene image is computed.

  • Patent number: 8755573
Abstract: A method of identifying a living being includes using a time-of-flight sensor to determine a location of a face of the living being. An image of an iris of the living being is produced dependent upon the location of the face as determined by the time-of-flight sensor. • Patent number: 8402133
Abstract: A position of a cursor on a display is tracked. It is detected that the cursor is in an area of the display that includes a component of a webpage. It is determined whether the component matches a designated type of component, and details of the component are stored in response to determining that the component matches a designated type of component. A user input that selects the component is detected, and details of the component are accessed in response to detecting the user input. The details of the component are sent to a collection server.

  • Patent number: 8203602
Abstract: A method of estimating a blur kernel distribution for visual iris recognition includes determining a first mathematical relationship between an in-focus position of a camera lens and a distance between the lens and an iris whose image is to be captured by the lens. The first relationship is used to estimate a second mathematical relationship between the in-focus position of the lens and a standard deviation defining a Gaussian blur kernel distribution. A position of an eye of a living being at a future point in time is predicted. A focus position of the camera lens is adjusted based upon the predicted position of the eye. The camera lens with the adjusted focus position is used to produce an image of the living being's eye at the point in time. An actual position of the living being's eye at the point in time is sensed. The first relationship is used to ascertain a desired focus position of the lens based upon the actual position of the living being's eye at the point in time.
