    Abstract: The present invention provides a vertical gas distribution device for aerobic compost and a gas distribution method. Current gas distribution pipelines are easily blocked by organic materials, resulting in poor ventilation due to non-uniform local ventilation and cleaning difficulties. The inventive device comprises a compost chamber, a compost bin, a compost heap, a percolate tank, and a plurality of gas distribution branch pipes at the bottom of the compost chamber, the pipes being vertically movable in the chamber; the percolate tank is positioned at the bottom of the chamber and under the pipes; an air inlet is provided on the side wall of the tank, and an outlet is provided on the side wall of the chamber; the compost bin is inside the compost chamber, and the compost heap is in the compost bin; each pipe is top sealed, with a plurality of vent holes on the side wall, and its bottom connected to the tank. The present invention is usable for compost ventilation.

    Abstract: Devices and techniques for initiating and controlling preemptive idle time read scans in a flash based storage system are disclosed. In an example, a memory device includes a NAND memory array and a memory controller to schedule and initiate read scans among multiple locations of the memory array, with such read scans being preemptively triggered during an idle (background) state of the memory device, thus reducing host latency during read and write operations in an active (foreground) state of the memory device. In an example, the optimization technique includes scheduling a read scan operation, monitoring an active or idle state of host IO operations, and preemptively initiating the read scan operation when entering an idle state, before the read scan operation is scheduled to occur. In further examples, the read scan may preemptively occur based on time-based scheduling, frequency-based conditions, or event-driven conditions triggering the read scan.

    Abstract: A method and apparatus for copper-catalyzed electrochemical water treatment are provided.     Abstract: Provided are chemical inducers of pluripotency (CIP) which include glycogen synthase kinase inhibitors, TGF? receptor inhibitors, cyclic AMP agonists and S-adenosylhomocysteine hydrolase (SAH) inhibitors or histone acetylators. A method of inducing pluripotency in a partially or completely differentiated cell by using such chemical inducers of pluripotency is also provided. The method includes: (i) contacting a cell with the CIPs for a sufficient period of time to result in reprograming the cell into a pluripotent stem cell having ESC-like characteristics (CiPSC). Isolated chemically induced pluripotent stem cells (CiPSCs) and their progeny, produced by inducing differentiation of the CiPSCs, can be used in a number of applications, including but not limited to cell therapy and tissue engineering.

    Abstract: Devices and techniques for data removal marking in a memory device are described herein. A delete command can be received at the memory device. A count of data portions in the delete command can be compared to determine whether the count is below a threshold. In response to determining that the count of data portions is below the threshold, the data portions can be written to a buffer. When a buffer full event is detected, a segment of an L2P data structure can be loaded into working memory of the memory device. Then, each record in the segment of the L2P data structure that has a corresponding entry in the buffer can be updated to mark the data as removable (e.g., invalid).

First, a service migration policy may be created for a network that includes a plurality of edge clouds configured to provide a service to users. Next, a movement of a user receiving the service from a source edge cloud may be detected. The source edge cloud may be associated with a first area and the detected movement may be from the first area to a second area. Then, the service migration policy may be applied to determine whether to migrate the service for the user from the source edge cloud. In response to determining to migrate the service, a target edge cloud may be identified and the service for the user may be migrated from the source edge cloud to the target edge cloud. The service migration policy may then be updated based on a success of the migration.

The method comprises: I, adding a nutrient medium to the soil, and then inoculating a remediation microorganism; and II, inserting the above device into the soil for 6˜8 days, and then taking it out. The method can remedy heavy-metal-polluted soil in a short time with a high removal rate of the heavy metal.

To avoid the electrolytic corrosion on the interface between the two metals during the formation of the first hole, the disclosure provides a method of manufacturing the metal article. By putting a metal substrate in a first electrolyte including an etching agent and a passivating agent and applying electricity on the metal substrate, the metal article with the first hole is formed without electrolytic corrosion. The disclosure also provides a metal composite, which is formed by setting a material part in the first hole of the metal article.
