  • Publication number: 20250092819
Abstract: This invention presents an innovative technology, dedicated hybrid cycle, for dual piston based engines, which can be further developed as mobile chargers for electric vehicles. This design re-defines the single engine piston/crankshaft configuration in conventional internal combustion engines as two sets per the combustion process: Otto piston and Atkinson piston; correspondingly, there are Otto crankshaft and Atkinson crankshaft. As a matter of fact, the Atkinson crankshaft can be realized through a cam as well. The Atkinson mechanism is dedicated to accomplish high combustion efficiency, while the Otto crankshaft for engine output only. Periodically, the hybrid combination of both Atkinson and Otto cycle can significantly improve the engine efficiency and torque density. This innovative combustion mechanism is further developed for genset applications to generate electricity on the vehicles in a most efficient manner.

  • Publication number: 20250050748
Abstract: This invention develops an electrification solution to heavy commercial trucks, especially for the hard-to-electrify long haul trucking vehicles, agricultural and off-road equipment. The propulsion systems are dedicated to application of low carbon bio-fuels, ethanol and/or ethanol belndstocks, to replace diesel. Electric drives work as a propulsion system to maneuver the commercial vehicles while the on-board motive power systems provide electricity. The electricity generation system is ethanol agnostic from E0, E10, E15, E85 to E100. A vehicular powerplant system is composed of compact ethanol agnostic generators. Furthermore, the electricity is produced to optimally meet the dynamic power demands from the vehicle operations in a most efficient manner. The systematic architecture can minimize the energy losses among the electricity generation, transmission, storage, distribution, and utilization.

Abstract: An apparatus for measuring at least one of temperature and pressure within a cylinder of an internal combustion engine can include an engine valve and a sensor. The internal combustion engine can include a valvetrain having rocker arm assembly, a camshaft, a valve, and a hydraulic lash adjuster. The engine valve can have a valve head and a valve stem extending from the valve head in an axial direction. The valve head can have a valve face configured to be in pressure communication with an engine cylinder. The valve stem can have an outer surface with a cylindrical portion and a variably-shaped portion. The variably-shaped portion can define a target detectable by the sensor and the sensor can be installed adjacent to the target. Alternatively, the sensor can be positioned to detect a level of force at some point along the valvetrain.

  • Patent number: 8862346
Abstract: A mobile computing apparatus simulates the performance of a virtual vehicle using the route, driving behavior and loading experience of a baseline vehicle. The baseline vehicle is instrumented and operational data is collected, forming a data set. The apparatus includes simulator logic configured to construct a duty cycle from the data set representative of the operation of the baseline vehicle during travel along the route (e.g., a loading duty cycle). The data set includes route data with distance and vehicle speed information, engine data associated with the engine, and operational element data. The logic defines a virtual vehicle that is the same as the baseline vehicle but that includes a virtual operational element, such as a transmission, that is different than that in the baseline vehicle. The logic determines a performance characteristic, such as fuel economy, of the virtual vehicle using the constructed duty cycle.

  • Publication number: 20140174966
Abstract: The present invention relates to a beverage bottle with storage solutes. By means of pressing the drinking pumping cylinder, the cutting membrane inner cylinder being pushed down, two cutting edges of the cutting membrane inner cylinder are provided to cut the membrane; the cutting membrane inner cylinder has a notch to constitute a membrane adhesion structure; the cutting membrane inner cylinder being pushed down, the inner sleeve being separated from the sleeve in longitudinal direction, the water outlet port is connected to the water outlet cylinder portion so as to constitute a water outlet access; the sealed cap cooperates with the central spindle to constitute a switch control structure for the water outlet access. It has the advantages of: its pressing control structure is simple and labor-saving, its cutting membrane effect is good, its solutes are released quickly and completely and it can be provided for drinking directly.

  • Patent number: 7087342
Abstract: The present invention provides regenerative passive and semi-active suspension systems. A regenerative suspension system generally includes at least one regenerative damper, a module, an electric switch, and a battery. The at least one regenerative damper converts mechanical vibration energy within a vehicle into a voltage, which the damper passes to the module. The module measures the voltage from the regenerative damper, and in response, changes electric switch settings for each regenerative damper between an open circuit, a closed circuit completed by a power resistance, and a closed circuit completed by circuitry for charging a battery. Additionally, the module sets electric switch levels to adjust the damping forces within each regenerative damper.

  • Patent number: 7085636
Abstract: The present invention provides a transmissibility shaping control for active suspension systems. The T-shaping control is a combination of several sub-strategies using the dynamic information in the frequency domain. Each strategy works dominantly in a certain frequency range to achieve a desirable transmissibility for better suspension performance in the corresponding frequency range. Different sub-strategies for different frequency ranges include stiffness control, skyhook control, groundhook control, and various damping levels. In addition, an embodiment is provided utilizing tunable compressible fluid struts in an active vehicle suspension.
