    Abstract: A method and apparatus for encoding feedback signal is provided. The method includes: encoding feedback signals of three carriers to output a bit sequence; and transmitting the bit sequence on a High Speed-Dedicated Physical Control Channel (HS-DPCCH). The encoding the feedback signals of the three carriers may specifically include: mapping the feedback signals of the three carriers into a codeword, in which the codeword can be selected from a codebook, and codewords in the codebook satisfy a particular code distance relationship. The method for jointly encoding feedback signals of three carriers in a Ternary Cell (TC) mode is provided. Feedback signals are transmitted over a single code channel. Therefore, power overhead is reduced, and system performance is improved.

    Abstract: The present invention discloses a method for transmitting control information, user equipment, and a base station. The method includes: determining a quantity of pre-known information bits in information bits of E-DPCCH control information, where the pre-known information bits represent information bits that can be learned in advance by a base station; determining a transmit power of an E-DPCCH according to the quantity of pre-known information bits; and sending the E-DPCCH control information to the base station by using the transmit power. The method for transmitting control information, the user equipment, and the base station of embodiments of the present invention can reduce a transmit power of an E-DPCCH and reduce uplink interference, thereby improving an uplink throughput.

In a data retransmission method, a special codeword is determined according to a difference between a number of layers selected by a transmitter and the number of layers that need to be occupied for retransmitting a codeword. The number of layers that need to be occupied by the codeword to be retransmitted is smaller than the number of layers selected by the transmitter and no new data needs to be transmitted and wherein the number of transport blocks comprised in the special codeword is equal to the difference. The codeword that needs to be retransmitted and the special codeword are allocated to each transport layer through a layer mapping.

The method is for transmitting Hybrid Automatic Repeat Request-Acknowledgement (HARQ-ACK) information in a communication system in which two carriers are configured, which includes: a user equipment encodes a codeword of the two carriers. The codeword represents encoded HARQ-ACK information of a first carrier and a second carrier according to a specific encoding scheme of dual-carrier configured with Multiple-Input Multiple-Output (DC-MIMO). The user equipment then transmits the encoded codeword of the two carriers to a base station. Therefore, bit error ratio (BER) and detection error cost are decreased, power overhead is saved, and a cubic metric (CM) value of the system is not affected, thereby enhancing the performance of the system.

Therefore, the waste of transmit power of the E-DPDCH is reduced, and thus the system capacity is improved.
