  • Publication number: 20160369254
Abstract: Truncated pullulanases having an N-terminal deletion in a parental pullulanase are provided. These truncated pullulanases have altered properties as compared to the parental pullulanase, including an increased saccharification rate and higher catalytic activity at acidic pH values below 4.5 and higher temperatures of up to 64° C. These truncated pullulanase salso have improved thermal stability as compared to the parental enzyme. Also provided are compositions containing the truncated pullulanases and a glucoamylase, and processes for applying the truncated pullulanases and compositions in the starch industry.

  • Publication number: 20160354460
Abstract: Presented herein are live-attenuated viruses and methods of generating thereof from a parental virus through a plurality of nucleotide substitutions in the viral genome. The nucleotide substitutions result in a change in codon usage bias within codons of one or more protein encoding sequences and no change in amino acid sequences of the proteins. The live-attenuated viruses display unaltered replication in avian hosts for propagation, but attenuated replication in mammalian hosts, when compared to the replication of the parental virus. The live-attenuated viruses in a form of improved vaccines can be used to elicit protective immune responses.

  • Patent number: 9489304
Abstract: A system on a chip includes a network, an interface and a bridge module. The network includes one or more devices. The network is configured to operate in a first domain. Communication in the first domain is based on a first set of read and write ordering rules. An interface is connected between the network and a second chip. Communication between the interface and the second chip is in a second domain. Communication in the second domain is based on a second set of read and write ordering rules. The second set of read and write ordering rules are different than the first set of read and write ordering rules. The bridge module is configured to map communication transactions between the first domain and the second domain.

  • Publication number: 20160218620
Abstract: A single-inductor multiple-output (SIMO) power converter converts an input voltage into an output voltage and a biasing voltage. The SIMO power converter comprises an inductor and a primary power switch, and a control circuit. The inductor is configured for storing energy from the input voltage. The primary power switch has a control node and is connected between the inductor and the output voltage which powers an output load. The control circuit controls the primary power switch comprising an auxiliary power switch and a driver. The auxiliary power switch is connected between the inductor and the biasing voltage. The driver, powered by the biasing voltage, drives the control node. The biasing voltage determines a signal level at the control node. The primary power switch and the auxiliary power switch are controlled to distribute the energy stored in the inductor to the output voltage and the biasing voltage.

  • Publication number: 20080087304
Abstract: A system and method of processing a substrate. The method and system applies a liquid to a surface of the substrate so as to form a film of the liquid on the surface of the substrate, wherein a boundary layer exists at the interface of the surface and the film of the liquid. The cleaning system then applies a force that penetrates the boundary layer so as to create a localized area on the surface of the substrate that is substantially free of the liquid. The application of the force in combination with the liquid removes particles from the surface of the substrate.
