  • Publication number: 20260238425
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may provide an indication of the supported sounding reference signal (SRS) transmission capability of the UE to a network entity for early SRS transmission (e.g., SRS transmission after initiation of a random access channel (RACH) procedure with the network entity and prior to reception of the registration accept message from the network entity that corresponds to the RACH procedure). The UE may transmit early SRSs in accordance with an SRS configuration based on the indication of the SRS transmission capability. The network entity may use the SRSs to perform channel estimation and select parameters (such as precoders) for downlink and/or uplink communications with the UE. Indication of an SRS capability for early SRS transmission accordingly may reduce the time to establish data communication between a UE and a network entity.
