    Abstract: Dynamic control of the length of time that an RRC connection exists is implemented based on the known and anticipated data needs of the UE. More specifically, the lifetime of the RRC connection may be a) initially set, b) extended, or c) shortened, even to the point of substantially immediately releasing it, based on the expected data transmission needs of the UE. This dynamic control is implemented by elements of the core network which are aware of the known and anticipated data needs of the UE. The UE needs are a function of the applications running on the UE. In one LTE-based embodiment, the RRC release timer is responsive to the Policy and Charging Rules Function (PCRF), which can access information about the applications that are running at the UE. In another embodiment, the RRC release timer is responsive to the Policy and Charging Enforcement Function (PCEF).

    Abstract: The present invention provides a method of site-directed insertion to H11 locus in pigs by using site-directed cutting system, includes the following steps: 1) identify the targeted sequence targeted by the targeted cutting system in the targeted genome sequence of pigs; 2) design and construct the targeting sequence of the corresponding cutting system according to the targeted site; 3) construction of targeting vector; 4) transfect cells, identify the efficiency of fixed-point insertion by PCR amplification. The invention is dependent on the site-directed cutting system of H11 locus in pigs, to insert the target gene into the target site, in order to solve the problems such as low efficiency of traditional shooting technique, inconvenience design of PCR detection primer, harder to detect. The invention provides a method of site-directed insertion which can stably express the foreign gene at the H11 locus, to build an efficient platform for the production of transgenic pigs.

    Abstract: This invention discloses a lysin that can kill many species of Streptococci. A new lysin, ClyR, was constructed by the gene splicing method. The ClyR can effectively kill different species of Streptococci, including Streptococcus pneumoniae, Streptococcus pyogenes, Streptococcus suis, Streptococcus uberis, Streptococcus agalactiae, Streptococcus dysgalactiae, Streptococcus mutans, Streptococcus equi, and various Enterococci and Staphylococcus aureus. ClyR shows good stability and is not sensitive to EDTA and high concentration of NaCl. Moreover, the ClyR is active in a wide range of pH and maintains high activity in pH 5-11. Recombinant protein ClyR is well expressed in E. coli stain BL21 (DE3). High doses of ClyR showed no apparent toxicity in mice. Furthermore, administration of 0.8 mg per mouse once is able to completely protect the mouse infected with lethal doses of Group B Streptococci.

    Abstract: A method and system is provided for culling hidden objects in a tile-based graphics system before they are indicated in a display list for a tile. A rendering space is divided into a plurality of regions which may for example be a plurality of tiles or a plurality of areas into which one or more tiles are divided. Depth thresholds for the regions, which are used to identify hidden objects for culling, are updated when an object entirely covers a region and in dependence on a comparison between a depth value for the object and the depth threshold for the region. For example, if the depth threshold is a maximum depth threshold, the depth threshold may be updated if an object entirely covers the tile and the maximum depth value of the object is less than the maximum depth threshold.
