  • Publication number: 20040083769
Abstract: The present invention discloses an improved door assembly and a washing machine and a dryer having the same applied thereto. The door assembly of the present invention includes a hinge assembly (150), a door body (200), a hook assembly (300), a lock assembly (400). Since, in the present invention, the hand hold formed in the door body (200) is recessed in an inner circumferential surface of the frame (210) so as not to be visible from an exterior, an outer appearance of the appliance is improved. Of components of the hook assembly (300), since the bracket (320) having a shaft (340) with a hook (310) inserted therein is formed as a unit with the bracket (320) on an inside thereof, with a reduced number of the hook assembly smaller than the related art, an assembly process can be simplified and productivity is improved. The lock assembly (400) provided to the cabinet (100) to hold the hook (310) includes a hook holding device and a locking device.

  • Publication number: 20040025544
Abstract: Disclosed is a washing machine having an improved circulation apparatus for pumping water in a lower side of the tub and discharging the pumped water from an upper side of the tub. The circulation apparatus includes a circulation motor, a circulation hose and an injection unit. The circulation motor communicates with a lower side of a tub of a washing machine to pump water in the tub. The circulation hose has one end that is connected with the circulation motor, and guides the pumped water. The injection unit includes a nozzle. that has a facing surface facing an inside of a drum and left and right surfaces of the facing surface, the facing surface and the left and right surfaces being completely opened. • Publication number: 20030074932
Abstract: Washing machines having improved frictional forces with laundry. Those machines include a cabinet with a door, a tub inside for retaining wash water, and an internal vessel, inside the tub that is coupled with a motor that rotates the internal vessel. A friction member inside the internal vessel rubs against laundry. The frictional member includes a friction enhancer, such as a spherical structure or a freely rotating ball, that enhances laundry friction during washing and reduces adhesion of laundry after a dehydration cycle.
