    Abstract: A touch device is disposed on a substrate having a plurality of scan lines. The touch device comprises a plurality of readout lines and a plurality of sensors. The readout lines and the scan lines are intersected with each other, and the sensors are electrically coupled to the corresponding scan lines and the corresponding readout lines respectively. A scan signal is introduced into the scan lines in sequence to control whether turning on the sensors, and the scan signal comprises at least one first turn-on pulse and a second turn-on pulse to simultaneously turn on at least two sensors which are electrically coupled to different scan lines.

    Abstract: A method for updating display image of an electrophoretic display panel and an electrophoretic display apparatus using the same are provided. In the aforementioned method, the gate lines of the electrophoretic display panel are divided into a first group and a second group. The display data related to pixels coupled to the gate lines of the fist group need not to be updated. Furthermore, the display data related to at least one of the pixels coupled to the gate lines of the second group need to be updated. The first type gate pulses are provided to the gate lines of the first group respectively, and second type gate pulses are provided to the gate lines of the second group respectively. The second type gate pulse has a predetermined pulse width. The pulse width of the first type gate pulse is shorter than the predetermined pulse width.

    Abstract: A shift register including shift register units controlled by first and second clock signals for generating an output signal. For each unit, in an active period, the first driving device drives the first switch device to activate the output signal, and the second driving device provides a voltage signal according to the first clock signal to drive the first switch device to de-activate the output signal. When the first switch device de-activates the output signal, the second switch device provides the voltage signal to serve as the output signal according to the second clock signal. In the active period, the voltage signal has a low level, and the first and second clock signals are set as alternating-current signals and are opposite to each other.     Abstract: In the liquid crystal display device having a back-light source for illumination, image data is provided to the panel in successive frames such that the optical response of the liquid crystal in each pixel within a frame period has an impulse-like shape. The back-light source is controlled to illuminate the liquid crystal display panel such that the illumination is provided to the pixels for only part of the frame period. The optical response curve has a rising portion followed by a falling portion, and the back-light source is controlled by a timing control module such that the back-light is turned off at least when the optical response curve is in the falling portion. It is also possible to remove the image data from the pixels, or to control the charging and discharging of the electrodes to produce the impulse-like shape.
