  • Patent number: 6438449
Abstract: To provide a substrate transport device and a transport teaching system which can automatically perform a teaching processing in order to reduce the burden of an operator and to eliminate a positional shift accurately and efficiently in a short time. Optical connectors 251, 252, 253 and 254 of a jig 200 and optical connectors 256, 257, 258 and 259 fixedly provided on a substrate transport device are opposed to each other and optical axes are coincident with each other. A lens having a high condensation ratio is provided in each optical connector. A light signal is output from optical sensor heads 231 and 241 through an optical fiber F2, each optical connector and an optical fiber F1, and a light signal input to optical sensor heads 232 and 242 is guided into the substrate transport device. Then, an arm 31b is automatically moved in a three-axis direction. Thus, an edge position of a detected portion 122 is detected to acquire positional information so that teaching information is obtained.

  • Publication number: 20020106269
Abstract: A substrate processing apparatus includes a transport robot (TR1) formed with a telescopic vertical movement mechanism of a so-called telescopially nestable multi-tier construction. A drive mechanism (D1) is initially driven to move a support member (48) upwardly to simultaneously elevate a vertical movement member (42d). As the vertical movement member (42d) rises, a pulley (47c) simultaneously moves upwardly. As the pulley (47c) moves upwardly, a vertical movement member (42c) is lifted upwardly by a belt (L1). Similar actions elevate a pair of transport arms (31a, 31b) provided on the top of a vertical movement member (42a). The increase in the number of tiers of the nestable multi-tier structure precludes the increase in height of the transport robot (TR1) in its retracted position.

  • Patent number: 6107621
Abstract: Each component of a modular encoder can be formed so as to be fixed to a rotary shaft of a rotating unit in a horizontal direction (a direction of a shaft line of a rotary shaft). Consequently, the modular encoder can easily be assembled and fixed, and reliability of fixation can be enhanced at the same time. In addition, the modular encoder has an elliptical shape so that a size thereof can be reduced in a direction in which a dimension should be decreased. Furthermore, if the holding member is rotatably fitted in the locking member in such a manner that the holding member can be rotated around the rotary shaft of the rotating unit, a sign plate can easily be aligned.

  • Patent number: 5357824
Abstract: The industrial robot comprises two lower arms arranged parallel to each other and pivotably supported on a lower base member; an upper base member pivotably mounted on upper ends of these two lower arms, respectively so as to form a parallelogram together with the two lower arms; at least one first driving source for driving the parallelogrammic link; an upper arm pivotably supported on one side of the upper base member so as not to interfere with the parallelogrammic link and driven by a second driving source. Since the upper arm can be moved horizontally by inclination motion of the parallelogrammic link mechanism and further the upper arm is pivoted on one side of the upper base, the upper arm can be moved frontward, rearward and upward without any interference with the lower arms.

  • Patent number: 5184038
Abstract: A magnetic pole position detecting device is coupled with a brushless dc motor by determining the angular positional relationship between an input shaft of a rotor, a detecting device body, and a locating mark formed on a detecting device casing by outputting absolute values indicative of the angular position of the rotor, coupling an output shaft of the brushless dc motor with the rotor of the detecting device, driving the dc motor externally, and forming another locating mark on the motor casing in alignment with the locating mark formed on the detecting device casing, under a condition in which the angular positional relationship between the motor casing and the detecting device casing is so determined that motor induced voltage is in phase with waveform of the absolute values output. Therefore, it is possible to easily replace the magnetic pole position detecting device with a new one in a short time at any job site, independently from the motor.

  • Patent number: 4717121
Abstract: The end of a damper wire control cable 17 is provided with spaced anchor rings 33. During assembly a notched anchor plate 32 on a mounting bracket 24 or an anchor tab 35 on a cable clamp 21 is engaged in a groove 34 between the rings to firmly fix the cable end and prevent any longitudinal movement thereof, thus ensuring the full opening and closing of the damper. Some embodiments also enable the precise axial positioning or adjustment of the cable end during assembly.

  • Patent number: 4679494
Abstract: A duct with a damper is provided in an air conditioning apparatus to adjust an air flow rate. A slit is formed in the duct to be opened in a side wall. The damper comprises an opening and closing part inserted in the duct through the slit and a pivotal shaft which is turnably held by the duct. This construction facilitates easy connection of the damper to the duct. The damper undergoes opening and closing movement by a cable. The cable is fixed to a given position in the air conditioning apparatus by forming an engaging part at an end portion of the cable and by forming another engaging part in a cable supporting part for supporting cable at a position corresponding to the first engaging part so as to engage the two engaging parts.
