  • Patent number: 5184186
Abstract: An automatic document conveying apparatus and method for use with an image forming device such as a photocopying machine. The apparatus comprises a document feeder for feeding documents into the apparatus, a document conveyor for conveying documents to a copying position on the photocopying machine, and a document reconveyor section for re-conveying documents back to the copying position and also for conveying documents out of the apparatus. The apparatus further comprises a controller for controlling operation of the feeder, conveyor and reconveyor. The controller controls the feeding motor which drives the document feeder and the conveying motor which drives the document conveyor such that the feeding motor is driven during operation while the conveying motor is turned OFF and ON.

  • Patent number: 5156390
Abstract: An automatic document conveying device for an image processing machine in which a transparent plate, on which to place a document to be processed, is disposed on the upper surface of the housing. The automatic document conveying device includes a document table for holding documents to be processed, a document receiving tray for receiving documents after they have been processed, and means for feeding documents from the document table through the processing to the document receiving tray. A document delivery roller moves the document from the transparent plate, following processing of the document, along a document delivery passage. Document discharge rollers located at the downstream end of the document delivery passage move the document from that point to the document receiving tray. The document delivery rollers are driven at a higher speed than are the document discharge rollers.

  • Patent number: 5064188
Abstract: An automatic document conveying device is provided in an image-processing machine having a transparent plate on which a transparent plate on which to place a document to be processed, the transparent plate having been disposed on the upper surface of a housing. The automatic conveying device is provided with a document delivery re-introduction section which sends a document delivered through a document introduction section and a central main portion selectively to a first document receiving tray, a second document receiving tray and a transparent plate by use of multiple branched sheet passageways. The document delivery re-introduction section is provided with a first branched passage for sending a document into the first document receiving tray, a second branched passage for sending the document into the second document receiving tray, and a re-introduction passage for re-introducing the document into a transparent plate.

  • Patent number: 5058874
Abstract: An automatic document conveying device for use with an image processing machine having a transparent plate on which to place documents. The device includes an opening-closing frame and a document table. A conveyor roller is rotatably mounted in the opening-closing frame. A document delivery device is provided for delivering sheet-like documents from the document table. The document delivered from the document table is introduced into a required position on the transparent plate by the conveyor roller. The rotation of the conveyor roller in the introducing direction is stopped while the introduced document is still between the conveyor roller and the transparent plate. A guiding device which permits advance of the document from the document table to the transparent plate but hampers movement of the document from the transparent plate toward the document table and defects it upwardly, is provided between the document table and the conveyor roller.

  • Patent number: 5056775
Abstract: An automatic document feeder includes a document delivery belt for conveying a document, a pulse output switch for supplying pulses in synchronism with driving of the belt, and a counter for counting the number of the pulses supplied. The extent that the delivery belt is driven is roughly controlled on the basis of the number of pulses supplied from the pulse output switch. After a predetermined number of pulses have been provided, the driving of the delivery belt is controlled according to time. According to the time control, the delivery belt is driven for a constant time period. The number of the pulses supplied during this constant time period is counted. If the counted value is different from a predetermined reference value, the delivery belt is driven until the counted value reaches the reference value. The delivery belt is thus controlled to accurately set the document in a predetermined position.
