  • Patent number: 9189431
Abstract: A network system enables monitoring the status of peripheral devices from computers without concentrating a load on the network. A specific device driver that runs on a specific computer connected to the network has an initialization command transmission unit that sends a first initialization command to the specific printer when a process command is sent to a specific printer, and an operating status monitoring unit that, after initialization based on the first initialization command is completed, monitors the operating status of the specific printer until the printer power turns off. Because the specific computer does not initialize and does not monitor the operating status of the specific printer until the computer sends a process command, concentrating a load on the network is avoided when the network system starts up.

  • Patent number: 9098779
Abstract: A host computer is connected to a printer that prints text according to settings specifying a text printing format. Using a function of a driver setup program, the host computer acquires a file set including an MOT file (recording device settings data) and a corresponding INF file (control device settings data) that are configured to produce the same or substantially the same printout as a printer with different printing format specifications, and configures settings stored in a registry that is referenced by a printer driver based on the acquired INF file. Using a function of a firmware setup program, the host computer generates or updates settings based on the MOT file.

  • Patent number: 9094631
Abstract: [Problem] To suppressing part of an image not being recorded even when the image to be recorded does not fit in an area defined by the top, bottom, left, and right margins set by an application. [Solution] If the size of the image to be recorded is larger than the application-specified area defined by the margins when image information including information denoting margins on cut-sheet paper is input from an application execution unit, the printer driver execution unit of the host computer virtually enlarges the positions of the sides of the cut-sheet paper, and generates and outputs to the printer a control command to record the image described by the image data in an enlarged area, which is an area defined by sides separated by the margin from the virtually enlarged sides.

  • Publication number: 20140255254
Abstract: In order to improve accuracy of determination of a blood coagulation time without requiring complicated work, a measurement unit 2 of a blood coagulation analyzer 1 irradiates a measurement specimen prepared by mixing a blood specimen and a reagent together, with lights of a plurality of wavelengths including light of a wavelength ?1 and light of a wavelength ?2, obtains information regarding an amount of transmitted light that transmits through the measurement specimen, and transmits the obtained information to a control device 4. The control device 4 calculates a blood coagulation time of the blood specimen based on information regarding a transmitted light amount based on light of the wavelength ?1. Moreover, the control device 4 determines whether a blood coagulation time can be appropriately obtained through the measurement, based on information regarding transmitted light amounts based on light of wavelength ?1 and light of wavelength ?2.

  • Patent number: 8684485
Abstract: A printing device includes a nozzle row for chromatic ink comprising K nozzles and a nozzle row for achromatic ink comprising (n·K) nozzles. In a color region, an image-forming operation is performed m times in which the movement direction of the nozzle rows switches alternately between forward and reverse directions, whereby a region of the image having a predetermined width is formed. The image-forming operation performed m times includes the image-forming operation performed once in which both of the nozzle rows for chromatic ink and for achromatic ink are used, and the image-forming operation performed (m?1) times in which only the nozzle row for chromatic ink is used. In a monochrome region, the image-forming operation is performed once in which only the nozzle row for achromatic ink is used, whereby a region of the image having a predetermined width is formed.
